PS4: What have you played so far?

RoJoHen

Awesome
Admiral
I purchased a PS4 last week along with the new InFamous game "Second Son." The system hasn't been out very long, so there aren't too many games available for it yet.

Aside from InFamous, the two games I am most looking forward to are "Uncharted 4" and "Arkham Knight." In the meantime, however, I'm not sure what else to play.

What games have you guys played so far, and how would you rate them?

I have a PS4 also....and have thus far played Wolfenstein: The New Order (great game), KillZone Shadow Fall (really good game), Watch Dogs (really good game), and the Destiny beta (the Bungie folks really know how to make a first person shooter :) ). I do want to get Infamous Second Son and there is another Infamous game coming out soon.

I have bought the following games:

Infamous Second Son

Assassins Creed 4

Call of Duty Ghosts

Watchdogs

So far i have played Assassins Creed 4 the most. It is an awesome mix of close combat action, Parkour (jumping around on rooftops and everything else) and ship to ship combat with boarding actions. It looks good enough but it's obviously done on a last generation graphics engine.
The successor, Assassins Creed Unity, has a current gen engine and it shows.. it looks amazing.

I'm about 30% through storywise and am having much fun.

Second in line is Infamous Second Son.. so much fun to become a personal version of a superhero and it's a great game where i have spent minutes just jumping and boosting around rooftops ;) Need to pick it up as soon as i'm done with AC4.

Call of Duty is CoD.. nothing really new there or even revolutionary but i wanted a shooter with a multiplayer and i like the CoD series in general (though the few times i tried multiplayer i got my ass handed to me hard ).

Watchdogs i can't say much because i've only played the first few scenes but it looks ok (even though graphicswise it's also last gen).

Recently i have played the Destiny Beta and at first was a bit disappointed because it was nothing groundbreaking (and my expectations may have been too high) but as i did the first few solo missions my opinion improved a lot. I especially liked the parts of a mission where you enter a restricted area meaning that if you die at some point you have to start the whole area anew.
It adds a "little" tension to the fight because after you have beaten the first 3 waves you kinda start to get nervous about the 4th and final wave and try your best to stay in cover.

Being a Beta many areas were still blocked and some features were not accessible so when the full game rolls around on 9.9. i think i will concentrate on the game exclusively for a while and explore all there is (and from the looks of it there's a boatload of stuff we haven't seen yet).

Next in line would be Dragon Age but it's been pushed back to November giving me enough time to play the games i have.

AC4 I already played on PS3, but it was definitely a fun game. I have to admit I'm getting pretty burnt out on the AC series, though.

Came into some unexpected money a few weeks ago and splurged on a PS4. I've played a few hours of Watch Dogs and hated it so much I sold it on ebay (not necessarily a bad game but definitely not what I was expecting - the endless driving missions were making me crazy and sucked all the fun out of the game). I just picked up The Last of Us Remastered (I never played the original version) and so far am really enjoying it.

Also played the Destiny beta, Resogun and the first few missions of the free-to-play WarFrame.

I've also played it quite a bit via my PS Vita with remote play, which works surprisingly well. Resogun in particular looks gorgeous on the Vita's OLED screen, and I haven't had any issues with latency at all.

Jimbo, you're in for a helluva ride with The Last of Us. :) probably my favorite PlayStation exclusive, just eclipsing Metal Gear Solid 4.

I can understand your frutration with Watch Dogs' driving sequences. It's not everybody's bag. My roomie absolutely hates driving in games....unless it's Halo. The handling of the Warthogs and other vehicles was agreeable to him.

I recently started revisiting Mass Effect...and my favorite elements in the game is being able to use the Hammerhead ground APC. I could not get why it was so reviled...but then I kinda understood....the handling of the Hammerhead is horrendous because it depends entirely on camera perspective. I think if they would've improved on that in the second game, it would've been a better experience. But instead, they excised it from the sequels...giving it a vague reasoning as to why in the story....but the truth of it was, it was not popular at all with most players, so it was dropped from future installments. I liked it though because of the firepower it added when traversing the ground. :)

Funny story... I remember the first time I played Mass Effect, I was using the Hammerhead, and came to an area where you're supposed to get out and travel/battle on foot. Well, battling on foot against what they were throwing at you was pretty much insurmountable from my perspective. So, I kept trying to get the Hammerhead through the obstacle that "prevented" it from going to the combat area. After several tries, I succeeded.

As I was revisiting the game last night (on PS3, not 360), I tried it again, and it was a bit tougher. After several attempts, I got the Hammerhead through. I then grinned and muttered: "Oh, you f**kers are in trouble now!"

I will always use the Hammerhead until I cannot. :)

I've played Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag all the way through, and I'm about 75% done with inFamous: Second Son on the evil play through. As of now my wallet is burning a hole in my pocket wanting to run out and pick up The Last of Us Remastered, as I never played the PS3 version but heard nothing but good things about it.

I played the PS3 version twice, and I still really want to buy the PS4 Remastered version. It's such a phenomenal game.

Most of these I rented and didn't complete.

Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, the only PS4 game I've bought so far, enjoyed it, finished the story component and bought the DLCs but haven't finished them yet.

ResoGun, the first PS+ game, played a few hours of it, nice SHMUP game that I'll put on and waste some time on now and again.

Contrast, have a few short goes on, interesting but flawed.

Knack, terrible game, felt more like an early PS2 game, really limited and badly told with stiff game play.

Pinball Arcade

KillZone Shadow Fall, didn't enjoy at all. Put a couple of hours in to it and sent it back.

Putty Squad another terrible game that was based on a 20 year old game that it felt like they hadn't bothered to update at all.

Need for Speed Rivals enjoyed it much more when it was Burnout.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Played a few hours and decided not to bother, I'd only played it last year the improvements weren't enough to make it worth playing again.

inFamous Second Son I really enjoyed it, thought about buying it but I put two weeks in on rental and finished the story.

Thief Another one I wasn't fond of, couple of hours were enough to make me give up.

Trials Fusion played for about a week, didn't feel as fresh or inventive as the previous Trials games. Might buy it if it gets cheap.

Don't Starve Another one from PS+ that I put on and play for a bit here and there. Enjoy it but after a few hours it just feels repetitive.

Outlast the PS+ game I've played the most, finished the story and I'm tempted to add the DLC.

Still not enough games out to warrant a purchase of a PS4 right now...
Stores here have PS4 units on shelves right now, no need to reserve one and wait a couple of weeks for one...
But i might get one sometime next year when there is more out, maybe if there is a Uncharted 4 bundel or some-such...

Despite being the 1st of the new batch of consoles I brought, don't think I've completed any games on it or played it that much (360 still has me)...

Assassin's Creed: Black Flag - Played an hour was kinda impressed but I have AC fatigue.

ResoGun - Will probably uninstall as not my kinda of thing.

KillZone: Shadow Fall - I am at the very end from what I hear and need to come back one day to finish. Solid but 100% paint by the numbers with little inspiration.

Contrast - Interesting little game, played hour or two will go back one day to finish off.

Injustice: Gods Among Us - Not a big fighter fan but I do like the super hero genre - seems solid enough.

Outlast - Seen someone play it but not touched it yet, been saving it as it looks good.

MGS: Ground Zeroes - Installed not touched

The Last of Us Remastered - Really enjoying playing this game AGAIN and tried the online this time though thats a little so/so.

I have Alien Isolation pre-ordered in October for PS4 and I will deffo play that day 1.
