Just watched the program and i have to say what a train wreck, if there was indeed a issue with the PS3 then watchdogs utter levity towards the whole situation have done nothing to high light the issue, and i don't know how happy i am to see the BBC repairing other people's faulty PS3 with my licence fee money......and what about watchdogs stated facts.....2.5 million PS3 sold worldwide, PS3 cost £400, did they not do any research at all before the show, plus from what I'm seeing this issues seems confined to the 60gig models for some reason.
On the upside for Sony they were replacing all faulty PS3 free of charge right up until March of this year so anybody who bought a PS3 in 2007 effectively got a free 2 year warranty, but that don't help those poor buggers that got a fault after March.
On the subject of warranties i think all electrical items above £199 should in this day and age come with at least a free two year manufacturer warranty as standard, if a company is confident in its product it should back that up in its warranties.
