The colours feel off to me - Admiral Picard's Command shirt with the really dull burgundy (ala the ST:FC undershirts), which is so much darker than the yellow on her shirt. Be better if they'd brightened the red to something closer to the TNG shirts.
They probably wanted to make it instantly clear that, while in the past, it was still much later than the TNG film timeline.
5 years, roughly, isn’t too terribly long after Nemesis but yeah...wanted to establish a clear time progression/jump
It still leaves untouched the bizarreness of the longest-serving uniforms by far in-universe (the "monster maroons") being the most atypical. The reasons were sensible enough IRL (production costs), but still...
I've been of this opinion for 30 years. I hope they retcon it in the future so that it overlapped with other uniforms in the first half of the 24th Century.
They were just really good uniforms. I wish they kept the under shirt though. They look wrong without it.
Agreed. My favorite will always be the grey ones from DS9 and the last 3 movies, but those are pretty slick themselves.
It seems from the pics we've seen so far that Captain Rios apparently has an EMH that looks exactly like him?? Cabrera even describes his character as "...a loner who is happy to be in his own company." What better way to stroke ones own EGO than to have a Doctor that looks just like you. The pic of Rios with the long black jacket and white shirt (the EMH?) walking in front of Picard, matches an earlier pic of the 'actual' Rios sitting in a chair with his shirt off being attended to by the black jacketed one.
The uniform design is not bad but the way they sit on the actors is terrible. Just looked like something rushed. All bunched up around the shoulders, looks like something a fan might wear (no offense fans).
