Wow, thanks everyone for the kind comments! I really like a lot of art from the 60's, so I'm really flattered by those who said my drawings remind me of them! Albertese, to answer your question, I suppose I'd always been aware of TOS, and knew it was something I'd probably really like, but it just took me a long time to sit down and watch the episodes. It's a wonderful series- I wish there were more episodes. Oh! And about the markers, mostly these are colored with Chartpaks, although I like copics as well, especially for doing more detailed stuff. Chartpaks are my favorite markers, although they bleed like crazy and stink to high heaven!
Psion, wow! I'm surpised you can name them! Some of the drawings are pretty stylized, so I'm happy they are somewhat recognizable regardless.
Cary, that's a wonderful thing to say, about capturing the "spirit." Thank you very much! I am very very lucky that I make my living drawing, although not as an illustrator. I tried to get into that line of work, but it's pretty difficult! Maybe someday!
B.J., Yes! These are colored with markers on post-its. I know it sounds weird, but it's less intimidating to draw on a tiny yellow scrap of paper than on a huge white canvas.
Wingsley- Ha ha! I'll be sure to post any new girls I draw here! There are so many more that look as though they'd be fun to put on paper! Girls from that decade were sure amazing.
Again, thanks everyone! After reading this I feel like drawing some more.
