I'm watching it right now. Wow, things are getting downright awkward between Romney and Obama. I'm half expecting one of them to belt the other in the face.

Yeah, we get it, you think both candidates are equally terrible. You made that abundantly clear in the last debate thread. Do you have anything constructive, in-depth, or interesting to say about either candidate, or can we just expect another thread full of you whining about how everyone sucks?

How did I miss the "Binders Full of women" statement? Can someone recap that for me?

George Takei just posted on Facebook: "I admit, I've never kept a binder full of women around either."

And SO.. a meme is born. Isn't it a chubby sweet thing?

Must be his first presidential election.

My take on the debate tonight is that Obama won this round. Romney looked clearly uncomfortable. I laughed when the mod had to correct Romney. You would think that someone running for the Presidency would make sure his facts were straight beforehand.

All that really counts is that he gets the facts wrong with confidence.

  12. Obama pretty clearly referred, twice I believe, in that speech to it being an act of terror. So she, and Obama, was right on that account in the debate.

Romney had a more general point about the administrations overall response to it and the whole video demonstration thing, but he made a big mistake focusing specifically on Obamas terminology in that one speech, and got caught with his pants down.

I had the same concern earlier, but having heard several viewpoints on the matter, it appears it isn't quite as Mediaite (and other right wing sites) has presented it. She certainly feels that in a general sense, Romney was correct, but that he worded it vaguely enough to where it could be interpreted several ways. Even so, it doesn't take away from Obama's Rose Garden speech, which did mention the terrorism aspect of the Benghazi attack.

I don't think there was anything vague about how Romney worded things. He explicitly accused the President of not calling the attack on the consulate an "act of terror" until 14 days after it had happened, when in fact that was demonstrably false.

No one is obliged to be charitable and rewrite what Romney meant to say; he sidetracked himself. He could have tried to hammer the President for not knowing whether it was a spontaneous demonstration, for whatever that might have been worth (and I'm sure the President was prepared to deal with that), but instead Romney chose to go for the shiny soundbite. Bad move.

To make matters worse, he dwelled on that point "to make sure" it was on the record. I could almost hear Mitt Vader saying, "I have you now!"

The fact is that Romney did not know what he was talking about, pure and simple, and it blew up in his face, fair and square. He probably veered off script. Too bad for him.

Feel like having an opinion I couldn't get from a thirteen year old goth girl who hates everything?

Or would you rather just tell us several times about how you don't follow politics much but are still qualified to make broad sweeping statements that are based on complete ignorance of the subject matter again?

As a sexy foreigner, I can't see why any sane person would call Obama a socialist. It is a word, it has a definition, Obama comes nowhere close to meeting that definition. Those that insist on using it just make themselves look dumb to those that actually know what socialism is.
