Prequel Ranking #4 of all Time!

I still don't think Star Trek counts as a prequel, but cool.

Um... maybe we could consider it a prequel to Star Trek XII? Or is that cheating?

Or maybe people classify it as a prequel to the friendship of the crew, as opposed to being a traditional prequel?

I'll be honest with you, I'm just trying to stretch the definition as much as possible. I don't think it's a prequel, either!

Casino Royale only made $167K?! I'd have thought it made much, much more...

It made about 1000 times that. :p

But seriously, it was similarly a reboot after the horrible, horrible Die Another Day that preceded it, but was and is still the most successful Bond film. Plus Bond always does better overseas...both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace ended up close to $600 million worldwide.

James Bond had to reboot because of Die Another Day but Batman had to reboot because of Batman and Robin. Star Trek had it easy for the most part since no one went and saw Nemesis!:rommie:

Hahaha...true. I'm sure the last Trek most people remembered is either "the one with the whales" or First Contact.

It's good, but very different from all the other Bond films. I liked how it pretty much finished the story from CR, but then laid the foundation for future movies by establishing a potential villainous organization.

^ I got really busy with RL when it was released but the trailers looked really violent to me. it may be one of the reasons I didn't make the effort. okay, will netflix it soon.

Bond films make there money worldwide and it made a truckload of money worldwide. CR set the record for Bond movies at the US box office if I remember right.
