Predict how TOS Kirk will be Resurrected

xavier

Commander
1. Magic Blood
2. Time Travel to stop his death
3. Transferring his human essence into an android that looks like Kirk
4. A resurrection stone
5. He never really died in the first place and star fleet faked his death. (We all know sly the federation can be)

I am running out of ideas. Should TOS Kirk make the cut for the third firm how will they explain his resurrection that will make it very believable and not fan service which is what its really about.

I personally think Kirk should stay dead as it will be hard to pull this one off.

Or Shatner could end up playing the older version of the Abramsverse Kirk?

The film will open with an in-progress version of "The Deadly Years", and we get to see two or three minutes of Shatner and Nimoy before they're cured and become Pine and Quinto again. Then we get the title card and the film begins proper.

It won't actually be TOS Kirk, unless it's a Spock Prime flashback or hologram like in the unfilmed ST'09 cameo.

He'll be Emperor Tiberius from the Mirror Universe. They'll be an Enterprise TV Movie or more likely, a relatively more inexpensive prequel webisode, based on Manny Coto's unmade Season 4/5 pitch. In it, Tiberius is discovered imprisoned on an asteroid. He was sent there by the Tantalus Field, when Mirror Spock took over the Terran Empire. The device only appears to kill but instead imprisons people, displacing victims in the past of another universe. After a confrontation with Archer and the crew of the NX Enterprise, he attempts to return to his version of the 23rd century to gain revenge. Although thwarted at the last minute, he's successful enough in being thrown forward in time, but instead ends up in yet another alternate reality. The one Nero was responsible for.

There's an unrelated but fun adventure forming the pre-title sequence, and then the main plot of the movie starts with Emperor Tiberius showing up and similarly setting out to reek havoc on NuKirk, NuSpock and, given you really want Shatner to have scenes with Nimoy, Prime Spock in particular.

I'll use my idea from when ENT was in its first season: Shatner as a Klingon commander determined to destroy the Enterprise, with Jeffrey Combs as his first officer.

Another echo of Kirk emerges from the Nexus. Make the phenomena a doorway in and out of multiple universes. Time doesn't exist there. You just need to have Shatner resemble as close as possible, to how he did back in 1994. A bit of a stretch but not impossible after all that Tron Legacy, X-Men 3 CG tinkering with an actor's appearance. Throw in some medical jargon and after an hour or two back in normal space-time, he rapidly ages up by a couple of decades. So you just need to SFX for the scenes where he's discovered in there and pulled out.

I prefer the evil Kirk idea myself, as Shatner doesn't even need to replicate anything he's done before. Just be badass, threatening but funny with it, and generally chew the scenery.

The Borg resurrected him - Shatnerverse.

Doesn't make much sense but neither did the Romulans making a clone of Picard

Kirk accidentally takes Picard from the Nexus to an alternate timeline version of Veridian III where nuKirk, alongside nuMcCoy and nuSpock, is out on a camping trip.

I haven't really been paying much attention to the rumours about Shatner appearing in XIII, but is it possible that his role will be vague and ill-defined, left up to viewer interpretation to figure out who he is, much like the mysterious Curator played by Tom Baker in Doctor Who's 50th anniversary? Many believe him to be a future Doctor, perhaps the last, but it is left vague enough that many alternative theories have cropped up. So maybe Shatner will just be playing someone who might be a future Kirk, or might just be a nutty old man. Or he could be a manifestation of a sentient weapon, or perhaps Shatner will just wander onto set and start chatting up Chris Pine and Orci will decide better film it...

He won't be. This is just a really stupid rumor that has surfaced every time Bad Robot starts a new Star Trek movie.

Emperor Tiberius. I like the sound of that. Only thing is with the mirror universe , there is so much going on which is why the story is better suited in tv than film.

Shatner wanted to come back as Tiberius Kirk in what eventually became "In a Mirror, Darkly". The idea was that the Tantalus Device didn't kill, but teleported it's victims into a prison located in the past of the Prime universe. Berman supposedly instead wanted Shatner to play Chef in a knock off of Dave (where Daniels recruits Chef, teaches him to act like Kirk and has him fill in for him at a key point in history), they never agreed on money and nothing came of it.

Both of those ideas are really bad and I'm glad they never followed through.

I don't know, the Dave knockoff might have worked. Shatner has a good sense of humor. I can imagine him watching clips of TOS on the movie night screen and trying to copy Kirk's mannerisms, and then giving the TUC speech at the very end, while real Kirk was in the bathroom paying for all that blue space spaghetti he ate with the Klingons.

That really sounds awful. If you bring him back, he needs to play Jim Kirk and have a meaningful, emotional part of the story.

I had an idea for Enterprise that "Storm Front" should've taken place in the 1970's (much of the story plays out the same) with an elderly Kirk running the 19th Street Mission. Spock was captured by the Nazi's and Keeler died when they invaded New York. Near the end, he shows Archer his Starfleet uniform and gets to walk the bridge of the Enterprise one last time before the timeline is set right.

I don't know how to incorporate Shatner, but I'm not in the mood for a gimmick.

Spock Prime is sent back to his own universe and it somehow effects the prime universe timeline...Kind of like X-Men: Days of Future Past. This would allow for one final mind blowing scene where Kirk + Spock beat the odds one last time + are allowed to walk off into the sunset.

Also, Spock's return coud open the door for other prime characters to have a role/cameo in the new film.

With the 50th Anniversary coming up I'm betting we see Shatner, Nimoy AND Patrick Stewart on screen in ST3.

But, once again, we're focusing on something other than the main cast of these new films. I'm beginning to get the feeling someone, somewhere along the chain don't believe Pine, Quinto and Company can carry these films on their own.
