Predator 3?? With Arnuld??? Maybe... Hope, hope!!

There was an idea a while back about Schwarzenegger facing off against Glover, but obviously that wouldn't work now.

Unless they're facing off against a geriatric Predator ...

The interview sounds like wisful thinking to me, certainly re Arnie. However, I'd like to see a P3, as long as they had someone of the calibre of Scott, McTiernan or Cameron do it - not the nobodies who made the AvP movies. There is certainly a lot of stories to tell - a western (cowboys and indians v Pred), a space-set movie, Predators in the north pole, Predators v World War 2 (or 1) troops etc.

Oh, and for my money, P2 beats the original. Fockin' voodoo magic, mon!

I wouldn't ind a Predator 3 as I liked the second one although nowhere near like the first. But I agree with a earlier poster in that we definately need an Alien 5 directed preferebly by Ridley Scott as it seems Cameron has given up on directing.

^ I believe Cameron is working on a film in Australia.

yeah, Battle Angel.

"Alita is a creation from an age of despair. Found by the mysterious Dr. Ido while trolling for cyborg parts, Alita becomes a lethal, dangerous being. She cannot remember who she is, or where she came from. But to Dr. Ido, the truth is all too clear. She is the one being who can break the cycle of death and destruction left behind from Tiphares. But to accomplish her true purpose, she must fight and kill. And that is where Alita's true significance comes to bear. She is an angel from heaven. She is an angel of death. Written by Anthony Harmon

Set in the 26th century, the story takes place 300 years after a societal collapse caused by a major war. In that society, it's a technological dark age following a pinnacle of achievement far beyond where we are right now. Cyborg technology is a way of life. People are augmented a lot as workers, so being a cyborg is not unusual. The main character is a cyborg. She has an organic human brain, and she looks like she's about fourteen years old. She has a completely artificial body and she's lost her memory. She is found in a wreckage and reconstituted by a cyber-surgeon who becomes her surrogate father."

Honestly, Glover was one of the problems for me. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a terrific actor, and I love him in roles such as the one he has in Lethal Weapon. But I really don't buy him in this part.
IMHO he's simply no action star in the usual sense. Lethal Weapon is a good example of this. You can see how he's struggling and how Gibson's characters is the all-out action role.
Here, Glover's the one who has to be the one-man action hero, and he just can't pull that off IMHO. And Paxton just gets on my nerves most of the time.

Also, I think this one has a pretty poor script and some really bad dialog. Yeah, you could argue the first one has some bad dialog as well but it really fits the characters who are all these tough military guys. Plus Arnold one-liners are always cool ;).
The movie as a whole is also far more taught and to the point. This one feels bloated and somewhat pointless to me in comparison.

The sad thing is that I actually like the setting. Going from the jungle to the urban jungle is a nice change and a good way to avoid just repeating the first film. But everything else just drags it down IMHO.

So, yeah, I feel it actually WAS that bad :D. The only reason I have it on DVD is that I got it together with the first one. Still, I'll pop it in sometimes when I'm feeling the need for some trash :D.

Though I disagree in the main cos I love Predator 2 (and remember, the Paxton character was supposed to be annoying!), I do agree regarding Glover.

One major factor that worked in the Lethal Weapons was that he was supposed to be over-the-hill and trying to keep up with the young upstart Riggs.

He did a fantastic job in Predator 2, but I don't think the character really suited him.
