Good God, that hit my nostalgia button. I haven't seen the episode but I'm guessing they called on the Zyu powers because of how tough the monster is this time around. In the past, they'd usually summon powers to sorta just... play with the opposition, or completely own them.
^Basically yeah since Disney dropped Power Ranger's there was no need for them to keep airing remastered episodes.
Also there's Power Ranger's Samurai now. So no more need for remastered episodes since the franchise is back.

Samurai can't hold a candle to Pirates.
Oh, I get it. Sixth Rangers usually start out as bad guys, so the guy who can summon past Sixth Rangers is starting out attacking the good guys (and I still wonder how pirate Rangers can possibly be considered good guys).

Gai Ikari says that no one loves Super Sentai as much as he does.
One day, Gai saved a child from a traffic accident. Only to end up with a serious injury, on the verge of death. Gai arrives at a world that is not exactly a dream or real, there he meets DragonRanger, AbareKiller and TimeFire. They give him the GokaiCellular and the Ranger Keys along with their great power.
He wants to join the Gokaigers, but Marvelous won't acknowledge him that easily. Will the Super Sentai loving boy become a Super Sentai!?
He loves Super Sentai and justice.
After an accident, he became GokaiSilver. But will he be able to join Marvelous' crew?
GokaiSpear:
It's GokaiSilver's personal weapon. When he inserts a Ranger Key, he can execute his special move.
When the 15 extra Ranger Keys are gathered, they merge into the miraculous Anchor Key. The Anchor Key allows Silver to enter Gold Mode.
From the Timeranger's great powers, he received a time traveling vehicle.
Zyuranger's great powers granted him the dinosaur form.
By the great powers of Abaranger, he's able to combine them into the GoJyuJin. The drill has two modes, Shield Mode and Trident Mode.
AbareKiller is only credited in episode 18 in Hyper Hobby.
Episode 17 is called The Amazing Silver-Colored Man.
Episode 18 is called Rampaging with the Dinosaur Robot Drill. Rampage was written in katakana as abare, just like how it was in Abaranger.

No, they don't. Only 2 of the 15 sixth rangers (Dragon Ranger from Zyuranger and AbareKiller from Abaranger) started as evil rangers and later switched sides. GaoSilver was a bad guy when he was Loki, but that was before he became human again and transformed for the first time.
Okay, so wait... are they saying this Gai Ikari guy is a fan of the show from our reality who gets sucked into the show's reality and becomes a Ranger? Good grief, how Mary Sue can you get?
i think what they may be saying is he is a fan of the 'real' Sentai. like, if you lived in the DC universe and were a fan of the JLA.
No, it says "Gai arrives at a world that is not exactly a dream or real" and meets the Rangers there. And it calls him something that gets translated here as "Earthling," which would be an odd way to refer to a character who's simply a resident of the same version of Earth that the show's characters inhabit. The implication is that he comes from Earth and goes to another world where the Rangers are, a world whose reality compared to his own is questionable.

He meets the past rangers in that dream world. He's from the world the series takes place on, not from our world. He's a Super Sentai fan because on his world they're all real and well known.
The Gokaiger are aliens, they're not from earth, I think that's why the magazine calls Gai specifically an eartling, to make sure everyone get's that he's a regular guy who becomes a Gokaiger and that he will be an outsider on he team.
