Power Rangers

Maybe, but it sounded like Jason Frank's speech rhythm to me. He has a pretty recognizable voice that a bit of electronic distortion couldn't hide. Perhaps there's a story reason why he and Kat (I assume she was the female hooded figure) are using Time Force tech. Besides, we see Tommy holding his original Green Ranger Power Morpher in a publicity photo, but in the trailer we see him as the Black Dino Ranger. So he's evidently not limited to using one Ranger system.
We know Wes is in the anniversary episode, you saw a hooded figure with a chrono morpher, that's clearly Wes.

There were three hooded figures in the scene, two men and one woman. Obviously Wes was one of them, along with Tommy and Kat, since they're the three main guest stars for the special. But the one with the visible Chrono Morpher was the one in the middle and the one standing higher than the others, clearly meant to be the leader of the group. That would suggest Tommy. I just rewatched the scene in question twice, and though I can't say for sure because of the voice distortion, the one in the middle sounded more like Jason Frank than the other guy did. And the leader of the group in the earlier scenes was undoubtedly Tommy; his voice was far more easily recognizable there, because he spoke more.

It's entirely possible that all three of them have Chrono Morphers, given to them by Time Force so they could travel through time and across dimensions to recruit various Rangers. That would explain the discrepancy. Anyway, we'll see for sure on Tuesday.

Lupinranger 28

This episode was decent, it delves into a question we hadn't bothered to ask as to the circumstance of a teenager who hadn't graduate highschool like Umika who just stop school and work at a shop without their parent's reaction. That is, the father wasn't ok with it but things worked out smoothly in the end Nice to see touma sympathize with Umika

That look tsukasa gave when noel said he made the new VS vehicle was priceless as was Umikas expression when she discovered her pudding she saved was gone

Intense. The moon is gone! Gentoku sacrificed himself to damage the evolt trigger and we get a cracked helmet scene

I wonder how banjou will survive since he and sento will cameo in zi-o

I had an idea about that yesterday:
We saw in Generations FINAL that Kasei Mogami and his alternate-Earth doppelganger could merge into a single being, Bikaiser. So I suspect that's what will happen with people who have doppelgangers on the other Earth -- that they'll merge together and retain the memories of both versions. I don't know how they'll get Banjou out of the rift, but assuming they do, I'd conjecture that his merged version will have Cross-Z's memories but be free of Evolt genes, because the alternate world had no Evolt so he would never have been infected with those genes there.

Lupinranger VS Patoranger Girlfriend Army and Kamen Rider Rogue Episode 1 released

Lupinranger VS Patoranger Girlfriend army is a harmless little special that came as bonus if you purchased a monthly magazine. Tsukasa and Umika deal with a ganglar while protecting a young girl.

Kamen Rider Rogue mini series is a 3 part spinoff from Kamen Rider Build. It is chronicles the motivations of Gentoku Himuro. The first episode is part of the Kamen Rider Build Blu-ray Collection 1

I was looking through the MMPR episodes on Netflix, and I saw they have a second version of Season 1 called "Reversioned". Anyone know what the difference is between the original and Reversion versions?
I've been thinking about watching them, partly for nostalgia and partly for the comics, and I was just wondering which version I should go with.

Samurai8472, the Kamen Rider Rogue video isn't playing.

Go with the original. The "Reversion" was a 2010 re-release to fill the time slot after Disney decided to end the series with RPM and before Saban got the rights back and started it up again with Samurai. It's just a re-release of the first 32 episodes with comic-booky graphics and Batman '66-style text sound effects superimposed. The additions were deeply distracting and annoying and widely hated.

Before Disney sold the brand back to Saban, they decided to do an "update" of MMPR instead of a new season to ride the nostalgia train and try to milk a little more out of the brand before selling.

It didn't last long and was not well received

Cool, I'll just go with the originals then.
I'm also a little unclear on how the Boom Studios MMPR comics connect back to the show. Are they a full reboot or a continuation/reimagining that splits off after Green with Evil? All I know for sure is that they start after the introduction of Tommy Oliver. Would it be a good idea to watch the episodes up to that point, or could I just jump right into them?

As I understand it, they're sort of in continuity and not at the same time. They're telling stories as if they were sequels/continuations from the show, but updated to the present with smartphones and such, and going a lot deeper with the characterizations and drama than the show ever did. Call it a variation on the theme.

The original first season of MMPR doesn't hold up nearly as well as nostalgia says it does, but it's still miles above the "Reversioned" crap, which was just MMPR episodes with shiny new "Batman '66"-type special effects and a stupid new logo, so if you absolutely feel like you have to watch MMPR, go with the original.

Okay, the Rogue video works now. And we finally learn why Gentoku's group was called Faust. Not to mention that Gentoku was running a rogue operation.

I wonder what this means for the later season teams who are showing up in time travel crossover stuff. I mean, if they’re supposed to be from MMPR’s future and MMPR is taking place now, doesn’t that mean they’re from our future? Is the comics’ Ninja Steel team for example actually from around 2040? From what I’ve seen, the comics avoid this issue entirely by barely ever showing those other teams in their native times, except in environments where there aren’t any dating elements, like a forest. And by completing avoiding depicting or even referencing Dino Thunder’s Tommy.

It's comic book time. Best not to worry about it.

Well, I just watched "Dimensions in Danger," although I forgot to watch it live and my DVR cut off shortly before the end. (It was right after Tommy told Brody that "The Ranger legacy is in good--" Good what? Now I'll never know! ;) ) I guess I was wrong about the hooded figure being Tommy. Oh, well.

As I feared, it was cursory and weak. You can't do a decent crossover special in a measly 20 minutes, with no room for the characters to do much of anything or for any explanations to be given. (Like, where did Tommy get a "Master Morpher?" And how did Brody know who Tommy and Wes were?) It was just too cluttered and too rushed. Heck, when the 15 gathered Rangers all morphed, they didn't even get individual moments to pose and call out their names in the classic Sentai/Ranger manner.

The most interesting part was the fight sequence that was apparently taken from the Ninninger summer movie, with a rare look at the ninja-style tricks and techniques that the so-called Ninja Steel team hardly ever uses. It's a reminder of how much livelier and more creative Super Sentai is than the current version of Power Rangers, or indeed most versions.

Anyway, it does pretty much confirm the state of the PR multiverse -- most everything is on one Earth except for RPM and Dino Charge, which are in separate dimensions. Although I'm not sure about S.P.D., since I think it already had aliens living openly on Earth by now in its timeline.

The worst part of these specials are that they have weak buildup. I would have liked five episodes or some teasing through ninja steel about this threat

Maybe an episode where Brody or another ninja stee] ranger is replaced by a robot.

Sarah- this robot was very advanced

Brody- who could have done this?

End episode

Unfortunately it was all rushed

Wes- hey we got a threat and other rangers are being captured. Wanna join us?

Ninja steel-sure

*Rescue tommy. Do some grunt fighting. Tommy shows off twice. Finished and home in time for dinner *

I was reminded of "Forever Red" for the conclusion of the episode. In "Forever Red" Cole took down Serpentra with his Wild Force Rider.

"Dimensions in Danger" Tommy used the falconzord to stop a mega arrow.

Another correlation. "Forever Red" was the last "hurrah" of the Saban era. "Ninja Steel" is the last "hurrah" of Saban's second reign of the franchise

I wasn't crazy about how they "nerfed" Serpenterra when it had been such a terrifying, indestructible force in its original incarnation, but otherwise I liked "Forever Red" a hell of a lot better than this one. It's like Saban isn't even trying anymore. At least Hasbro thought the franchise was worth paying for, so hopefully they think it's worth putting some effort into.

This is a late announcement but the singers for "Kamen Rider Zi-O's" theme have been revealed.Usually there would have been some leak at the press conference but nothing this year.

For those that haven't heard Faiz's theme here is a live version from 2017

Kamen Rider Build episode 49. Series finale

https://www.mp4upload.com/qy3toh0mapar

What a finale. In some aspects it reminded me of "Doctor Who"

Ryuuga get to keep his girlfriend happyand another one continues as a hero

There were a few minor gripes like the dodgy CGI for Rabbit Dragon

I got misty-eyed when Sento entered the Cafe and Frank Sinatra(?) was playing in the background singing a song about how they wished things were like they used to be. God damn.

It hits you when you realize Sento is now the one who remembers everything and no one else does

BUT!

In a 4th wall breaking moment. Sento and the cast have been recording all the recaps. So they'll probably regain their memories

I just learned that the actress for Katsuragi Mom is having treatment for cancer so that probably why she didn't appear.

Odd they never showed Mr Katsuragi or alternate Takumi; maybe they thought it would diminish the impact of the final conversation with him and Sento. Tarou Satou is alive and well though, so it's reasonable to expect that the Katsuragis are around somewhere

Sento waking up with a Cross-Z RideWatch in his hand was a nice subtle little touch.

It's a shame the prime Isuragi in a coma could support the team more.

There's probably more I want to comment on but I can't remember(har har)

But wait!

I

On to Lupinranger VS Patoranger episode 29

https://www.mp4upload.com/fg00ekcwl7y2

The Eddie Murphy "Beverly Hills" cop joke was inspired

Interesting way to do a clip show. Just like Kamen Rider Build there's a traditional Japanese summer party to mark the end of summer. So it's both a clip show and summarizing the series so far

If only we could wipe the far out episodes of LVP like what Tsukasa suggested lol

I'll have nightmares of female Goodie/Goodie praising itself.

Last weeks lupin collection piece with the camera from Go-busters
