*Potential Spoilers* What will the Alternate Enterprise-A look like

Just gimme this and I'll be happy:

Where did you find this beauty?

omg, and star trek online did not choose it?!? they are strongly in need for some new design-input! to get away from all this self-referencing kitbash stuff

I wasn't alive when the original series was released and I appreciate that it used the special effects available at the time, I like the new designs and variations simply because it finally pulls away from the clunky and blocky look of the TOS Enterprise which to me is now horribly dated.

Even the original film Enterprise looks dated to me now.

This is just one of the reasons I have enjoyed the new films so much and approved of the increase in ship size as well the overall look and detail of the models used.

Hence why I love the variant Ent F designs, admittedly a few are a bit out there design wise but many would look great on screen.

.

The TOS Enterprise was only ever meant for TV, mostly black and white and tiny screens in the 60s. Its amazing that the design holds up as well as it does even today. Its a classic design and is special to many fans due to its sheer simplicity.

Fast Forward to 2009 or 2016, its easy to see why the JJPrise was enlarged and updated. I think people will always criticise a new take on a classic. (think classic cars and their modern equivalents). I do have some problems with the JJPrise but mostly like it. Its not good from all angles, whereas the Refit and the "A" looks balanced and beautiful from every angle.

Do I like the JJPrise more than the original? Actually no. Do I think its the best CGI Enterprise I've seen on the big screen? Absolutely yes.

Agreed - in the later timeline I LOVE the Akira class ships. Nacelles down primary weapon photon/quantum torpedo Nice That's my go to ship playing Legacy lol

The ship looks the same throughout the trailer, it's the same ship. But we have a stardate of 2263 now, more than two years since the final scene in Into Darkness were she heads out. The new warp effect implies she's had a further refit since then.

I doubt we've seen the replacement, if there is one, yet.

I have been convinced for a long time that THAT was the inspiration for beginning work on the design for the Enterprise-D. :D

By the way everyone. The Enterprise-A WILL be in the new movie. There was a major spoiler at the Star Trek Beyond Event that paramount had. The Plague for the Enterprise-A was on the wall before you went in the convention.

So here is hoping for a classic star trek glory fly by of the new ship.

"We'll probably get a freighter."

If I hear that line, I will be like a giddy school boy in my seat.

Oh and Karl Urban showed one of the last scenes of the movie behind him in a twitter post, the Enterprise-A behind him.
