Posters who are awesome that you'd like to meet

...
I haven't said much 'cause I don't want to look like one of those creepy stalker types that goes gaga over a hot fellow nerd ("Too late!" -- somebody... see what I've learned from Zion? :D),
...
The power of Ravescene compels you!

Although I'm not a big fan of meet-ups, I think it would be "interesting" to meet those on my Friends List and perhaps some posters in the SFF Forum with whom I've interacted and shared mutual interests.

To say who specifically would be too clique-ish, IMHO, and Lord knows this forum has enough Mutual Admiration Society threads in it.

You know, I think you are right. I would love to meet everyone here if I could so condensing them to a list makes it sound like I wouldn't... and it does come off a bit cliche-ish. However, I did list the folks I am either closest to (DM, Blab & jgc) and some that I am just curious about. But I would love to meet everyone on my friends list too. The more the merrier!

Squiggy (for a quick grope)

There is nothing quick about that.

You don't know the half of it. I am not all that quick about some things either. :rommie:

I hear ya. To me, it would be interesting enough to meet a fellow Trekker or a sci-fi or comic-book geek in person. Sorry, I've never been to any of the conventions. I've met fellow employees, neighbors, and strangers who are fans of ST, Harry Potter, or one of the series but haven't really had an in-depth discussion or interaction with them.

Of the posters currently active, in no particular order:

Orac Zen
Trampledamage
JonathonWally
M'Sharak
RJDiogenes
Flukie
Iguana_Tonante
Holdfast
T'Bonz
Colonel Midnight
NCC-1701
PKTrekGirl
Kimc
Digits

HEY!

(See, I told you it would happen!)

That was one of the things I loved about going to Star Trek on that opening Thursday night and when I went to see BSG: Razor at a local theater. It lets me know that there are other fans of the series where I am and it's not just on here I can talk about this stuff with. I actually do get into conversations with some people at these two events and that was cool. Didn't go much further than that. It would just be really cool though to meet someone with the same interests and likes that I have and be cool about it.

That's neat. Come to think of it, I have perhaps two or three co-workers in the office who are self-professed fans of either ST or HP, but it's not like that's all we ever talk about. Occasionally, I've gotten into some really "profound" sci-fi discussions with my boss, who's an old-school Trek fan. He liked ENT more than I did, and we used to exchange ideas on how things could've been handled better.

Everyone except OmahaStar. He is my arch-enemy! It would be fun to have more nerd friends in my life. We nerds have to stick together!

^^I think I would get bored if I only talked to a person about scifi or Trek. It's a benchmark but not the only one. I had a roommate who loved Trek and I got into some good conversations with him about the series' and other scifi, and one of those conversations talked about the Lost Era, which was between Kirk and Picard (starting with Sulu). I don't see him anymore, but it was a good college year.

I agree but people can talk about sci-fi and other stuff as well. For example alot of us could talk about all the sex , we aren't having. :) It might actually be fun also to try and do something creative together like make fan-film.

Sex isn't the first thing to come to mind in a conversation, but if the topic goes there, sure why not.

Let's see here...the ignored crew.

McSpammer is a must. Vegas 2010 right?
Holdfast (aka the big green squishy man)
Biggles
JW
Alidar Jarok
Gojikins

And virtually anyone on the board who knows who i am. I'm not picky.

lulz, I live in Mississauga.

Yes, I know... I do too. I haven't said much 'cause I don't want to look like one of those creepy stalker types that goes gaga over a hot fellow nerd ("Too late!" -- somebody... see what I've learned from Zion? :D), but feel free to PM me if you ever want to chat or hang out or something. I should've put you on my list... not only do you seem like a cool poster, but you're actually someone I could feasibly meet in real life! The same goes for others in the G.T.A. too, like TorontoTrekker, Ruaidhri, NickInABox, Trippy, etc.... Maybe we should plan something in the Meet-ups forum one of these days.

I have no interest in this futile engagement.

I lied, I really do, but for some reason I'm glib and dismissive today.
