Here's an older one of me and my buddy Gimli:

^ He looks very regal: Here I am sitting upon the human assigned to me for just that very purpose . . .

^^ *SELINA* be sure to tell Merlin he's very handsome too!

^^She's adorable - a real triple threat - cute, sporty and talented - have you heard her sing?

More interesting than the picture of the dogs themselves is the shadow of the person who is taking the picture. Or at least who appears to be taking the picture:

And one of my absolute favorites...black dog on white snow. Of course we had no snow in MA this year. Maybe that stupid global warming thing is for real!

Another of Max who firmly believes that ANYTHING that touches the ground is HIS!

My old dog Beau. He took his final car trip last Friday. He had arthritis so bad he couldn't even stand up and walk anymore. He was probably 15, he'd been with us for 13 years after we rescued him from the pound.

OH MY GAWD!!!!!!!!!!! i wuv dat puppy!!! Don't you love puppy breath? And those teeny tiny needle nails? Too freaking cute.

The needle teeth are fun too. My pup is getting her big dog teeth in now, and it some places has both sets. She looks like a shark.

We've gotten past the puppy breath phase, but she's a major league poop muncher, so her breath stinks regardless. She likes to catch fresh ones out of the other dog's butt.

Might she be zinc deficient? Back when Sam was younger, she'd eat all the turds she could find. Doc prescribed some vitamins and recommended a food change, and she stopped. Doesn't even take the vitamins anymore, yet still completely ignores poop.

And, here is the lovely Samantha, my 7 year old Beagle-Lab, after eating my brother's homework a few weeks ago (you can bet he was enthused that he could finally use that excuse)

Beau looks a lot like my dog Dallie. She's 15 years old and has some difficulty standing and walking. I give her whole body rub downs 3 times a week, and try to feed her foods rich in oils that help lubricate her joints. She, too, was a stray and we got her when she was 6 months old. I dread the day, and I empathize with you. :(

We feed her some high end, large breed puppy food, but it's worth looking into. She's getting spayed this coming Friday. I'll ask the vet while I'm there. Perhaps they can draw some blood while she's under.

In other news, we spent Friday and Saturday in Maine, just wandering along the coast. My other dog, who's hungry as he's on a diet, ate just about any dead thing he found along the beach. Naturally, this gave him gas. Between the sulfur from the toots, and the saltiness from the stuff he ate, his butt was doing a pretty good job of imitating the smell of a mudpot at Yellowstone.
