    Neither am I.

But I find it strange that she's cropped up in several different dreams. Actually thinking about it now the only redhead I know in RL is someone I took photos for a very long time ago, but that was some 15 years ago.

I dreamed about flirting with a man who kept a dulcimer and a horse in a banjo case.

Last night I dreamed I was a witch with black hair and a gown of black silk rags. I was in the air over a stormy ocean, with waves that were deep slate and foam that was dark green and red. The sky was dark, burnt orange and deep red and filled with bats and clouds made of tar -- globules hanging in the air that, when I caught them, would morph and elongate so I could swing from one to another over the ocean like Tarzan swinging from vines. Finally I caught a bat with paper wings and it carried me for awhile until I fell in the water.

^ That was surreal, TSQ. My dreams were rather short and fragmented last night. One involved sleeping with a younger attractive guy. I don't even remember his name or what he looked like, or how it led to that. No David Duchovny, though.

The closest I ever had to TSQ's dream was from years back--this dream stuck. I was floating just a little above the gravel driveway of my childhood home--a bit like The Gentlemen from the Buffy episode "Hush." I was hooded, and trying to gain altitude--for I was nearing a road. ( didn't want to be hit by a truck after all It was late at night--or very early.

I was able to float above my neighbor's house before I woke up.

My dreams are more often extremely surreal like that than not. Even the ones with relatively "normal" narratives feature supremely surreal elements.

    So it would seem.

Blimey that redhead appeared again last night. This time we were walking down a gravel road down a gentle slope and heading towards a fast car and she was driving like a race car driver on a public road. Same one with long read hair from my other dreams. It's freaking me out.

I am standing alone by a small, almost dry stream in a large valley. There is a village here - old buildings, cars from the 20's and 30's. Dust. No sign of life.

As I wander through the village, I feel as though I am not alone. I sniff the air.

Something is here. It is old, it is powerful, it is evil.

I look at my hands. They are turning grey. And getting larger. All of me is getting larger. There are protrusions now, on my joints, that seem to be bone. Or stone? My teeth grow and sharpen in my mouth. I have fangs.

I have a mission. I must find what is here. I must find it, and kill it. Before it leaves the valley.

It is behind me. I feel wings burst through the skin of my back. I know, without looking, that they are grey and leathery. I spin, snarling in challenge...

    Then I wake up.

There, you can dream analyze that if you want.

I dreamed I was Flo from the Progressive insurance commercials. For some reason I was trying to catch a flight at an airport, but I was late and running to the gate. Then I woke up.

I don't recall having it for some time, years at this point, but I use to having a recurring dream dealing with my late father who died (in real life) when I was just 14.

As with dreams in general, the details would be different each time, there were a few critical elements that unfolded more or less the same.

Within the dream, considerable time had passed since my father's death. Then, I would encounter him alive and well. I would experience a mixture of elation and confusion and I would request an explanation for his presence. he'd state he had to go into hiding (the reasons differed) but he was back and wanted to atone for the missed time. The situation would start off great as one might expect, but then the relationship would start "sour". My father would grow angry with me, noting the least little thing to fuel his frustration. the condition would grow until we'd come to blows, at which point I'd snap awake, feeling almost physically ill. Sometimes it wasn't even a physical altercation, just massive disgust from my father with him observing that he should never bothered returning.

I should note the deteriorating relationship, mimicked, at least to a degree what I actually experienced during the last year or two of his life. He grew increasingly short tempered, likely an effect of advancing cardio-vascular disease (primarily hypertension and elevated cholesterol levels) and the least little perceived 'infraction" resulted in my suffering corporal punishment of an excessive degree. I just never had the gall to actively "resisting" or striking back.

^ Sorry to hear about your dream (and your father). I've had dreams of friends, co-workers, and relatives who passed away, and like you, there is a mixture of emotions (surprise, confusion, joy, sadness). I say sadness because I usually hug them and cry, though at the same time, everything feels natural and business-as-usual.

I can only recall vague details about the past few dreams I've had. In one dream, I was out in a field of what looked like rice paddies, and I was with my work friends Tiffany and Sammy. The paddies were submerged in shallow, brackish water, and I could see oyster-like creatures in them, as if they were being farmed. This was an oyster farm (if such a thing even existed). The oysters looked different: instead of having two shells, each one was somewhat round and had a flat, smooth, almost polished shell, and right in the middle of the 6 - 7 inch shell was the fleshy center. It was bigger than most oysters I had seen, I thought, and after taking a few bites, I noted the soft texture and briny taste. My friends and I saw a few other colleagues from our department, and they too were oyster-picking. Tiffany said we should move our car to a closer spot near the paddies, but when Sammy and I went back to get our vehicle, we couldn't remember where we parked.

I appreciate the concern, but just to clarify, my father died 40 years ago (making me 54). So it's not like it was a "recent" event. And, as I noted at first, it's been a few or more years since having that dream (at least that I can consciously recall). But decades ago, d*mn, I had it every couple of months if not more! Brr!

I meant to say, sorry about your relationship with your father (when he was alive), which sounded less than ideal.

Even my dreams are afraid of trademark/copyright issues. Last night I dreamed I was on a shopping spree using a newly acquired VAXn Platinum credit card. I think that's some kind of amalgam of Visa and American Express.

OK I had my mysterious redhead again.......

This time she appeared to be waving at me so I approached her and she stood there smiling and handed me a ring. "your mine" was the only thing she said at that point and we just stood there holding hands.
