Post your Box Office Predictions

I'm expecting it to do very well. They aren't payng for advertising now and word is getting out pretty well. The reason IMHO? The names associated with it. The movie going audience is hungry for a hit and they love fantasy movies. That's why Pirates, Spiderman, Superman, Batman, LOTR, and others attract them. That they are good movies means good reviews and positive word-of-mouth recommendations.

With the casting that's (slowly) being done, I expect them to generate much interest for opening day. I believe opening weekend and the following few weekends will do very well. Numbers? Who knows, but all signs so far indicate a financial success and a few sequels. I hope they stay on track and I wish those involved nothing but success on this project.

More than Nemesis.

Oh, and it won't come #2 in the box office as Nemesis did to Maid In Manhattan.

*shudder*
I'll never forget that either. That was so disappointing. That indicated to me that even the fans didn't turn out. Many didn't even give it a chance. Yes, it sucked, but I at least gave it a chance by viewing it before writing it off. Trek beaten by J-Lo! Oh, my!

"Nemesis" made somewhere over 18 million dollars on its opening weekend. Of course the fans turned out...who do you think ponied that money up, teenagers who thought something about it looked cool? And how many hard-core Trek fans do you think there are in the U.S.?

It's WAY too early to talk about box office predictions. Until more information is released (casting, plot info) and we start to see footage or teasers, there's no way to know how successful this film might be.

I feel as though J.J. Abrams is going to do something amazing, and so I want to think the film will do really well at the box office.... but it's too early to know.

It has high potential based on what little we know. Now if they cast Johnny Depp as Kirk and Orlando Bloom as McCoy we have a sure hit no matter what!

^ Might be $7.50 in a year, might be $8.00 in a year, who knows ?

* I don't know, guess it depends on the economy in general *

To be honest, I'd be amazed if this thing didnt make enough money to warrant a sequel. Even if the movie is shit, with all the marketing and the hype they are going to have to try really hard not make money on the thing.

I saw the first Fantastic 4 movie, and it was bleeding terrible yet it still made money.
