Post ROTJ Animated Series Announced:Lindley's Gonna Be Pissed!!!

AICN is reporting the announcement of a post ROTJ animated series in the vein of the Clone Wars show.

I wonder what our resident EU-loving fanboy will think of this?

Personally, if done right, I think it could be awesome(especially if they bring back Hamill for Luke!!![faints]). This could the FIRST "real" SW in ages, especially since the holy grail for us old time SW fans has been the whole question of "what happens after ROTJ".

We may finally see what really happened!!!

I have had no interest in the Clone Wars series, but this one might be worth checking out. I know there's a ridiculous number of books that tell these stories, but I have no time or desire to read them.

The AICN story is vague with details, so while I'm all for post-ROTJ stories I'm not jumping up and down with excitement yet.

A good chance to bring on Thrawn in whatever kinda story they want, forget the EU.

Well, this might be the first one of these TV series that actually piques my interest.

I'm just so bored and tired of the whole 'prequel-era'. Just seeing trade federation droids, or naboo-ian ships, or senate meetings or meetings in palpatine's office, or any number of other flash points, makes whatever I'm watching drag.

I dunno...I'm beginning to think the George Lucas is trying to milk Star Wars...

:shifty:

Oh trust me, I hear ya!

There's about FOUR TRILLION things Lucas could do(and most likely WILL DO)to fuck this up and only about two or three ways this could end up being the best thing ever.

Personally I am just pleased the horrible and hated EU will FINALLY be nullified, once and for all!

no it won't. the books will still exist and people can still go back and read them and so will the comics. it's not like they're suddenly going to vanish into the ether.

christ, you're like the Joe fans whining about IDW's new ARAH comic negating the DDP run.

Uuuuuummmmmmmmmm..............what?

I have ABSOLUTELY no idea what that means.

I guess when anyone expresses any reasonable doubts about Lucas' ability to make decent entertainment now we become whiny fanboys.
I'm sorry to say this, but the whining about people being unhappy with current Star Wars (going back and including the prequels) is more annoying.

Aaand, even the shifty emoticon escapes the notice of the sarcasm-neutered.

I got that just fine but the distinction is, that people think that Lucas had a neat idea and then it turned into a concept that he then started to milk. What misses people's notice is that was his intention all along and something he was perfectly open about.

You're only now beginning to think that?

What's the problem? That's all Star Wars was suppose to be - a cashcow that allowed Lucas to make other more worthy films while other directors and writers churned out endless Star Wars adventures.

What other worthy films? Howard The Duck? What I am beginning to realise is that Lucas is a hack who had to rely heavily on other more talented people to help turn his ideas into good movies. Indy would be nothing without Spielberg. Empire nothing without Kasdan and Kerschner. Just look at the prequels.

Well a Post-ROTJ CGI series sounds great... but if it's the aforementioned parody/comedy series announced a week or so ago... then I am concerned...

Wow, they could probably get Mark Hamill back to voice Luke since he does a lot of VA work anyway right?

The IGN link says that this is referring to the Seth Green Star Wars comedy series.
