(Possibly) hidden messages in ST

Things in Star Trek that you think could be about something else.

Here's an example:

In Voyager's "Random Thoughts":

When Janeway says: " Apparently, outlawing violent thought hasn't made it go away. All you've done is force people to share it in back alleys."

Could it be a disguised pleading for the legalization of drugs? It certainly looks that way.

Well, I think it was intended broadly.
It could be applied to drugs, certainly. Or weapons. Or alcohol. Really anything where people thought a law against it would solve the problem and history has proven that wrong.
