I don't think that would make any difference. It's good that the movie franchise is a success, but doesn't guarantee that the same would work on TV, or make Trek a good fit for CBS. Ironically, this prank does home in on the element that would make a Trek TV series more viable - interest from writers or producers with a strong track record, that CBS might want to woo. That element of truth in it makes it the best prank of all the ones I've seen here (yesterday), granted some of them were very lame.
