Poor Rebecca Mader...

Also, Alex and Danielle Rousseau could both be pretty interesting if the writers decided to flush either of them out. Particularly Alex who was raised by Ben among the Others.

You'd think there'd be SOME Alex/Danielle interaction since they found out they were daughter/mother. Unless of course their schedules have been so busy the last several days doing nothing they just haven't had the time to yet.

If you ask Lost fans to name their four least favorite characters they will probably say Kate, Shannon, Ana Lucia and Nikki. Three of them have been killed off. The only reason Kate hasn't is becasue they need a "female lead". I think the producers made a huge mistake introducing Charlotte the way they did (hitting people in the head), given how prejudice tv viewers generally are against female characters. Maybe they just can't write for women? Sunn and Claire hardly feature and even Juliet was nearly ruined by the latest episode.

Kate- one of my favorite characters
Shannon- didn't really care, but I still felt surprrised sad when she died
Ana Lucia- I liked Ana Lucia (I know, I'm one of the few). I was mad at MR for getting a DUI & being kicked off the show. Of course, she says that she only had a contract for one year
Nikki- didn't really care about her either. Though she did have one of the best lines of the show- paralyzed/Paolo lies!

Probably because they're all self centred bitches? Kate's the only one who has any redeeming character qualities.

EDIT: I'm being unfair, Kate isn't a self centred bitch, she's just a complete idiot.

Oops, that wasn't my quote. I'd never mix up flush for flesh. ;)
Has she been axed yet?

Eh, she'll be dead by season's end. Not that that necessarily means much...

I like all the boaties. And I think most of them will be around a lot longer than we think. Afterall, the Losties who remain on the island need some antagonistic force to butt heads with, don't they?

I would be more inclined to think that the 815ers who remain on the island and the Others will "merge" under Locke's leadership.

I would rank them Daniel > Frank > Miles > Charlotte

For me it's the same, except I'd switch Miles with Frank. Beyond that.....Daniel's the most interesting and Charlotte's the least interesting.

Oh yeah as for Kate... I hate Kate but my GF truly despises her. I liked her at the beginning of the show when I thought she was a secret agent or something, but once we found out her mundane history I lost all interest.

Yeah, I - like almost all Lost fans I'm in touch with - really don't like Kate much at all any more either. It won't bother me at all if she bites it and soon. Course, I don't care for Jack much either, so there you go.........

Wha?? The reason people didn't like the female Lost characters you listed was because they were horribly (and in some cases, inconsistently) written, not because of any prejudice against female characters as a whole (which in itself is a weak and inaccurate explanation as the hundreds of shows with strong female characters suggests).

Maybe they just can't write for women?

You hit the nail on the head here though.

Charlotte wasn't so much written poorly as not written at all. She had next to no role. Now she's dead, which is a shame because I really think they could have done things with her.

They can't seem to write female characters very well at all. Anna Lucia, Shannon, Libby, all dead. Claire, Sun, never utilised.

Are we supposed to dislike Kate, or is that just the fault of the writing? The only thing I like about Kate is that she's rather easy on the eye.
