(...) Juliet and Sayid will die of their injuries (unfortunately!).

Um, she was like 50 cm away from the bomb. She didn't have time to become a kebab but she has been instantly transformed into radioactive dust for the next 300 years or so.

Unless there's a huge reset button ahead. But I doubt that.

I'm guessing our characters will all jump forward to 2007 and Juliet and Sayid will die of their injuries (unfortunately!).

I think Juliet is very likely dead with the nuke going off. Sayid on the other hand, him being dead wouldn't fit with how TV shows tend to do character deaths. If you're going to have a major character slowly die of a gunshot wound, the death itself always happens onscreen.

We haven't seen him die yet. If they were going to kill him off, and not have him be a main character next year, why wouldn't they just kill him off in the season finale, rather than bring him back as a guest star for one episode just so he can die?

Yeah hopefully Sayid will survive. For Juliet though, when a hydrogen bomb goes off, whether you're sitting on top of the bomb or fifty feet above it, does it really matter? I gotta figure either they all die or they all survive from magical Island stuff.

Maybe there was fall-out: women can't get pregnant anymore. But the healing properties of the island prevented any of the other usual effects of radiation.

Which would be rather ironic. Juliet is the direct cause of the infertility problem on the island.

I can definitely see them pulling a sad twist of fate kind of thing like that. Goodness knows it wouldn't be the first time. ;)

I voted option #2 - I think the timeline is governed by full-on predestination, and poor Jack is fighting against an unstoppable tide.

There is not nearly enough information at hand to form a good theory at this point.

Not enough in-story information. Faraday was our only reliable informant about the Nature of the Cosmos, and he & his notebook have been sending mixed signals. So I'm using the external approach - if I were writing this story, what would make the better plotline?

I think Juliet is dead too. She was too much a foil for the Jack-Kate-Sawyer triangle. It is unfortunate. I loved the relationship she had with Sawyer. She seemed to bring out the best in him.

I think the Losties in 1977 will return to 2007 but they won't be the same as they were before. Remember, in Season 3, when the Hatch exploded. Desmond wakes up with his ability to see glimpses of the future. Locke couldn't speak at first. Echo kept being haunted by his brother. I think the Losties will develop some side-effects of their travel back to the present and maybe some special abilities too.

Rose and Bernard won't be sent with them because they weren't at or near the area of the Incident. I think we are supposed to think they are the two skeletons found in the cave.
