Which Name should the Doctor have chosen?

I noticed that there was a Doctor Zimmerman in Amanda tapping's monster hunting webshow last night. I guess that means that Voyager snoozed and lost.

My choice would have been Zimmerman. The Doctor stopped thinking of himself as a "tool" after the 2nd season... would have been nice to choose a name.

That's remarkably hypocritical, considering well into he future of End Game, "Joe" still regarded Mr Paris as a "tool".

Don't be silly! The Doctor should not take a name because his name IS "The Doctor." It is what defines his character and...

...er...wait. You mean the EMH on Voyager? Oh, nevermind. I thought you meant Doctor Who.

Refresh my memory. Did he just say hbis name was Joe or did he have last name to go with it?

He took his wife Lana's grandfather's name. Although between taking the grandfathers surname because he was there anyway or taking Lana's Surname because they were married it's a fair bet he has one of those surnames if it isn't the same name... Unless she chose to take his last name which is an absence of name like a vacuum is an absence of presence.

I'm glad he didn't call himself Shmullus. I can't imagine anybody saying it with a straight face! :guffaw:
