POLL: Chakotay - Seven or Janeway

Who should Chakotay have ended up with?

Ending up with Janeway might not have been as silly and out of left field. Seven wasn't ready for dating anyway. Actually she's still not ready.

I can't imagine the guy Seven would end up with.

Axum? Except, he's probably not ready to date, either--if he's still alive.

I would have liked to have seen it at least being "implied" in Endgame that Janeway and Chakotay get together when they reach Earth. Then maybe the writers of the post-Voyager novels could have written their relationship into the books better. :)
I kinda wanted Seven to end up with either the Doc or Harry Kim.

I wanted the J/C pairing to be at least acknowledged. And I would have loved to see Axum arrive to help Voyager get home. Now that would have been awesome.

I found chuckles a thoroughly uninteresting character played by a very mediocre actor but "hate"? Nope.

Actually, and this is just FYI, but Robert Beltran is really doing well these days with his plays and I don't think he is a mediocre actor by any means. He might have been portrayed that way on Voyager, but he's not a mediocre actor. Now, Garrett Wang...that's another story! Poor guy..from what I've read he's been having trouble finding work these days. But I think he's working on some Asian movies or something? Not for sure. And of course, you are indeed entitled to your own opinions about your favorite actors/actresses or whatever...I just find it ironic that a lot of men dislike him and a lot of women think he's the most compatible guy to go out with. :)

I think the poster you quoted is a woman...

As for me, Beltran's not my type. Tim Russ is. :p

Okay... chill baby. :p
:wtf:

If you want to throw around a word like "hate" about something this trivial, that's your prerogative. I merely pointed out that it's not a relevant term for my view of the character and explained why. Why that means I have to "chill" is beyond me. The "baby" part is just pathetic.

As teya mentioned, I'm a woman. If Beltran floats your boat and has a career going, well and good. He does nothing whatsoever for me and in my opinion (which is all I can offer since I don't presume to speak for others) he's a mediocre actor.

Having said that, I quite agree with teya about Russ. :D

Being mediocre didn't hurt Shatner..................which is how most know Trek and made them both icons.

Not to shabby.

I agree, exodus. I don't think they really challenged the guy to his full potential at all on the show. To me, he showed so much promise and when used well, could really excel as an actor. I'm not sure what type of actor he is either..maybe Shakespearian since he really likes Shakespeare(frankly I can't understand what the crap they're saying sometimes!).
Orac Zen: ok, I respect that. :) In my opinion, Wang is mediocre..I'm not saying that Beltran is phenominal and is god or anything, but I think his character lacked a few things and the writers practically tried throwing crap together too quickly for Chakotay and Seven. I respect that..and wasn't trying to be sexist or anything. I guess I should have said that "alot of people criticize Chakotay's character and yet he is the one that women find most compatible to be married to". I find that interesting..people don't like his character, yet they think he's the type to be married to? Hmm..sounds a little strange. But whatever floats your boat.

I liked it when Chuckles and Neelix were comparing their ills during scientific method. They really got up some speed. :)

Yeah, I liked that one too, Guy!! The makeup/prosthetics were fantastic as well. Kind of went..ewww. :)

Me too. And I never "knew" he was bad or wooden actor until I found my way to Trek boards. I wouldn't marry him personally, since I don't get so emotionally attached to any character/actor out there. Tee hee.

Orac: I guess I should never be anything but extremely literal with you for now on, analyzing my post and all its possible interpreations for 10 minutes at least. My post about people hating Chakotay was not even specifically directed you in the first place. So someone getting so aggressively defensive, explaining his/hers thoughts in such a detail, taking one phrase so seriously and as a personal attack, was unexpected for me, that's all. And being pathetic... thanks. I've been called worse. :)

Tachyon, this is the sort of issue that can be resolved via pm. We like to leave the personal comments out of threads so that others can enjoy the original thread topic. Thanks.

EMH: Now pay attention, Mister Paris. These scans should indicate whether - hmm.
NEELIX: What is it?
EMH: It seems that your DNA has been hyper-stimulated just like Commander Chakotay's.
PARIS: But Neelix doesn't seem to be aging.
EMH: No, the effects are quite different.
NEELIX: If anything, I look like a Mylean. They occupy a region of space near Talax.
EMH: Interesting. Do Talaxians and Myleans share a common ancestry?
NEELIX: Not that I know of.
EMH: Do the two races ever intermarry?
NEELIX: Yes. As a matter of fact, my great grandfather was Mylean.
EMH: Then one eighth of your genetic material was inherited from him. Those must be the genes that have become stimulated.
NEELIX: Too bad my great grandfather wasn't a little better looking.
EMH: Hmm. As far as I can tell, his condition seems stable. I'm going to leave you in charge of Sickbay so I can continue the DNA analysis.
PARIS: If anyone else comes in I'll run a cellular scan. Is there anything else I can do?
EMH: Do your best to keep them comfortable. Until we have more information that's the best either of us can do.
NEELIX: Thought you might be thirsty.
CHAKOTAY: Thanks. Do you smell something strange?
NEELIX: I, I'm afraid that's me. I seem to be developing Mylean sweat glands. Sorry.
CHAKOTAY: It's not so bad.
NEELIX: Well, whatever happens I try to keep in mind things could be worse. I still have my home here on Voyager, my friends.
CHAKOTAY: Your hair.
NEELIX: True. But I'd gladly lose it if I could have my taste buds back.
CHAKOTAY: At least you're not losing your eyesight. See that display over there? It's nothing but a blur.
NEELIX: You think that's bad? The Doctor tells me my pupils have dilated sixty percent. I can't even look at that display, it's so bright.
CHAKOTAY: Yeah? Well I've got chronic arthritis in my fingers. I could barely keep this glass steady.
NEELIX: Well that's nothing. My spinal column is fusing together. In a matter of days I won't be able to walk!
CHAKOTAY: Got you beat. I can barely walk now.
NEELIX: Lieutenant, can we help?
PARIS: I don't think so. I'm releasing you both back to your quarters. I've just gotten reports of more patients on the way. It's going to get crowded in here.
