Pluribus

Enjoying it but...

Carol getting angry causes the hive mind to have a melt down with deadly consequences ok. But they mentioned that when the zoos were opened big cats mauled some people, surely the shock and trauma of that would be far worse on the hive mind than a woman having a tantrum?

They are displaying a curious kind of fatalism. No concern about what their actions have on themselves. I wonder if individual lives have any real value to the hive mind? Once their memories and experiences are in the hive they are maintained and apparently never lost.

It would be interesting to find out if the others losing their rag (because they must sometimes surely) also affects the hive mind or if its just Carol for some reason.

So, our actual Mayor, Tim Keller, did a cameo on this week’s episode. He’s a good guy, Tim, but in danger of losing in the upcoming run off election.

This can work a few ways.

1. Carol broad casts emotions like laser beams that interfere with the gestalt, but Animals eating people is entirely not the same thing.

Or...

2. The gestalts empathy is crippled by disappointing Carol. People being food does not not enrage the animals. It makes them happy. Happy animals do not hurt the gestalt, if animal emotions even effect the gestalt.

Or...

3. It's all Bullshit. They are just trying to keep Carol "harmless" while they figure out what to do with her.

Or...

4. This is a built in feature that the aliens will use to control humanity, or destroy humanity, when their colony ships finally show up.

I just finished watching the first episode of Pluribus, and part of the second. Between Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and now Pluribus, Vince Gilligan is three for three!

On the surface, an extra-terrestrial influence taking over Earth sounds like "so bad it's good" '50s sci-fi B-movie material. But Vince Gilligan makes it work and makes it feel like first-rate television.

Rhea Seehorn was great as Kim Wexler in Better Call Saul and she's a perfect fit for the lead role here.

if there was gonna be pluribus spinoffs i think they would be about the other non effected humans
Well the choices are unaffected humans or the hive mind so yeah. Not sure if there could be a show with the hive mind as the lead. Having the lead as another unaffected human runs into "Walking Dead Syndrome." How do you make it different from the main show? But as I said, they seem to be exploring the concept in the show, so no need for a spinoff.

The only character i think you could possibly do a spin-off on was the Indian lady though i don't think it would work that well. Hopefully, we will revisit the "others" as the series progresses.

well one of the differences i think would be is how the other english speaking un effected humans were the oppiside of what carol thinks is going on

while carol wants to fix the planet and find out what really happened to the world the others were like lets not fix the world and lets not see what really happened and we should just leave the how the world how it is and live like its a tv sitcom from the 1960s to 1990s

i think her spinoff show would be like a abc tgif tv sitcom from the 80s and 90s

because remember how she was with carol when all of the english speaking uneffected humans were all together and carol wanted them to find out with her what happened to the world and they turned on carol faster than the effected humans spazzing out

How would that work?

What if the spinoff is called "Carol Dreams" and we get to see her Forest Gump into old sitcoms and hang out with the Golden Girls or WKRP trying to eek out a solution to Carol and the end of the World.
