Plot theory based on trailer and older rumors

It would have to be covered up, Spock says there is no record of any Starfleet mutiny in "The Tholian Web".
I guess Starfeet turned a blind to the crew's actions in "This Side of Paradise". Is what Spock did in "The Menagerie" count as mutiny?

We should have a contest. Whoever comes up with the most internal canon errors each series did to itself wins a prize.

I just thinking, how could the 1st officer were so confident when they face multiple Klingon ships in the trailer. She even suggested the captain to fire the neck and destroy those ships. And the captain answer was also hilarious. She was confidently said that "Starfleet don't attack first. Shouldn't she answerd "Are you crazy? We face multiple Klingon warships. Do you really-really want to put us into early grave?"

Are they crazy or Shenzhou were so advanced that those Klingon ships were just cannon fodder that can be destroyed easily like in the video game?

Then why they so confident with the Shenzhou when in fact they are at the disadvantaged position here? Unless those Klingon ships were actually civilian ships.
Crazy idea here, but how about we wait for the actual episode before we start critiquing the plot? Cool. :p

Hopefully they will rationalize the power balance between the protagonists and antagonists in the show. No single ship can beat a flotilla by it own.

This has nothing to do with the trailer, but is just a speculative answer to your question.

Perhaps the Kobayashi Maru Scenario at Starfleet Academy accidentally has the side effect of making Starfleet cadets who perform well on the test (while still ultimately losing) have a degree of overconfidence in their ability to deal with a realistic Klingon threat once they actually encounter one out in the galaxy.

Think of it this way, if you manage to lose with dignity or ingenuity while going up against multiple Klingon warships basically operating in video game "God Mode" where they are overpowered and essentially invincible, and you are aware of the "No Win Scenario" nature of the test deliberately making them that way, it could give you the impression that going up against the real thing in a similar multiple ship scenario might be significantly easier to handle.

This could in turn lead you to make a reckless decision to go on the attack against multiple Klingon vessels when negotiation, subterfuge, or temporarily retreating and regrouping with reinforcements before returning might be the better option.

Upon exploring the mysterious signal, they discover it originates with an antique probe called Voyager 6. As a prank, they program it to go to a faraway planet populated by machine life.

I thought that first-time test-takers weren't aware it's a no-win scenario?

Saavik complained about the unfair nature of the test to Kirk after the fact but I don't recall any indication that she was unaware that it was a no-win scenario beforehand. It would be a pretty difficult thing to conceal from first time test takers given all the other current and former cadets who had been through it and shared notes or swapped stories about their experience taking the test around campus or on duty assignment.

Here's my speculation of what will happen.
First it open up in the 25th century on Qo'nos, which we see the Klingon Chancellor being murder.
The next scene we see, we're on a desert planet and we see two figures in the distence walking toward us. We move closer and we see two female figures talking to each other. The one on the left is speaking. We hear her say the women to her left. ''You've been serving under me for seven years, I believe that you are ready and should get your own command.'' Then we hear a beeping noise, she reaches inside her and pull out a device and flip it open and said. ''Captain Georgiou here, what is it''. We hear someone speaking, saying, ''We have found a unknown object nearby the black hole that we are studying. But we are to far to make out any detiles or get any reading. We need to move to the edge of the black hole itself. Do you want to stay on the planet or do you want us to come and pick you and Commander Burnham up?'' Then Captain Georgiou answer. ''It look a storm is coming, you better do a low fly over and beam us up''.
Then we see a starship coming out of the storm itself and then we see Captain Georgiou and Commander Burnham facing each other. Georgiou said ''Are you ready?'' and get a nog and then she the near her face and said ''we're ready'' and both disappear and appeared on a platform in a room. They leave the room and head down a corridor and enter a turboleft, which headed downward and open up which look like the bridge.
At that time, they're already in space, cause we can see that they are through the bridge windows.
As they walk onto the bridge, Captian Georgiou order.''best warp speed.'' and we see the starship goes to warp and next we see the starship appoaching the edge of the black hole. They scan the object, and found out that it is a ancient Massive Klingon starship, and that it is the imperial ship it self and that there are life sign onboard. Captain Georgiou leave the bridge and enter her ready room and a communicate the Vulcan science devision and a Vulcan appeared out of nowhere, but he is not there, he is on Vulcan and he ask. ''What did you found you've found on the edge of Federation space?'' Which she tell him and he tells her about the Klingon Chancellor being murder.
Later she comes out of her ready room and talked to Commander Burnham, who in turn leaves the bridge and next we see her in a room taking a spacesuit out of a locker and putting it on, After she put on the spacesuit, she enter the airlock and leave the ship and head over to the ancient Klingon ship. When she get there, there is someone waiting for her. They talked a little bet and he invite her onboard and take her to the imperial himself.
He greet her and they both begin talking. At the same time she, and the Shenzhou and the crew of the Shenzhow are being scan by a device that not only can scan a starship but also can read s person mind, but is very painful when being scan by it.
Later she leave the ancient Klingon ship and head back to the Shenzhou. Back onboard, she head down to the bridge. As she enter the bridge. A Klingon fleet show up. She tell Captain Georgiou, ''We need to open on that Klingon fleet'. Captain Georgiou replyed. ''You know that we don't fire first, that is not Federation policy.'' and she answer. ''Well we need to start, cause they're here to distoryed us and the Imperial ship''. Just after that the weapon officer yell, I'm picking up weapon lock from the Klingon fleet. They're targeting us the and Imperial ship''. Captain Georgiou bark ''Shields, all weapons to full power''.
Then the battle begin. the Shenzhou fought well, distroying a few Klingon ships and crippling a half dozen Klingon ships before being knock into the black hole, forcing her to go to warp. But she doesn't go to warp, she disappear into the center of the black hole. Just after the Shenzhou disappear. A Federation and Klingon fleet arrive. They open fire on the Klingon fleet that the Shenzhou and the imperial ship was fighting. On one of the Federation ship we see the name USS. Enterprise NCC-1701-G.
Then we back on the Shenzhou. she is badly damage and 3/4 of her crew are dead including Captain Georgiou, slup in her Captain chair, along with al the bridge crew. Except for Commander Burnham and the Helm officer. Which we see running down the corridor. Stopping once in awhile, picking up crew members and telling them to head to the escape pods. A few minutes later, she, the helmsman and everyone that were still alive are in life pods moving away from the exploding Shenzhou. They are in pods for a long time, before help arrive. They all past out just before help arrive. The starship that arrives is the USS Discovery NCC-1031. Later Commander Burnham is in sickbay and Captain Lorca is there and he ask. 'What ship are you from?'' She answer, ''USS Shenzhou NCC-1227''. He replyed. ''Can't be, she in sector such and such. I've just talk to her captain just before I've came to sickbye to talk to you. Later he is on the bridge and they are appoaching a debride fell on one of the wreakage and see the name USS. Shenzhou NCC-1227. Just after that they finds the Shenzhou blackbox. Later we see him talking to Starfleet command. He is order to head to Vulcan and pick up Sarek and head to that black hole.

So are you saying the show is actually called Star Trek: Shenzou ?
:p
I think the theory being referenced is that maybe Discovery is an anthology series and the Shenzou is the ship being focused on in season 1. I don't believe this theory personally, but it's one I've heard... my actually theory is simple. The Shenzou stumbles upon the klingon sarcofogas ship, and A regular Klingon fleet appears to defend it. Shenzou fights well, but is destroyed and Saru and Burnam end up on the discovery

Maybe, by my post was simply meant to be a good-natured ribbing of Dukhat when he said the "titular ship" of a show called Star Trek: Discovery would be the Shenzou....with emphasis on the "titular" part.
