Please recommend me a good show!

Agree with Jekyll and Arrested Development, very good shows, well worth looking out.

If you like Life on Mars (UK), there is its sorta sequel, Ashes To Ashes, with its 80s spin instead of 70s spin.

And 2 quirky UK sitcoms:
Black Books (set in an odd 2nd hand bookshop owned by a miserable misanthrope) and
The IT Crowd ( set in an IT Dept for a big company).

ETA: I forgot. Torchwood. But very selectively.

season 1 - first 2 eps plus the ep called 'They Keep Killing Suzie', partly to set up the series, but also to avoid some dire eps.

season 2- most of it is okay, but specifically the last 3 eps.

season 3, otherwise known as Children of Earth. One of the great SFTV events of this year, hands down.

Some time ago I finished watching Pushing Daisies. Now, many tears and many poor Lee Pace substitutes later, I feel like I have watched the last interesting show there is on tv; of course, it's probably only the grief talking, but I just can't find anything else I might be interested in.

What I have loved so far are shows like the aforementioned PD, Farscape, Firefly, Doctor Who, How I Met Your Mother, Babylon 5, Supernatural, the Star Trek shows, The X-Files, and Buffy.

I really liked Wonderfalls and Dead Like Me, Angel, Battlestar Galactica, Quantum Leap, Scrubs, Dark Angel, Dexter, Eureka, Life, NCIS, and Bones (to a degree). Dollhouse is someplace between here and not really getting into it.

I never could get into Lost, 4400, Chuck, Carnivale, Reaper, the CSIs, and just last night I gave up Fringe after about 30 minutes. I gave up House after the second season.

What did I miss? What great show did I not yet watch? Admittedly, I probably now forgot half of what's still out there and has already been watched, but this is all that comes to mind now.

Help?

Absolute MUST watch:
24
G.I. Joe: Resolute
Pen & Teller's Bullsh*t
Spawn (the HBO series)
Tru Blood

Must WATCH cartoon/puppet series:
The Simpsons
Thundercats
The Boondocks
The Sifle and Olly Show
Crank Yankers
Robot Chicken

And lastly, for Extra credit (adults only)
HBO's Pimps up, Ho's Down:devil:

Here's one that few people would think to recommend: Nero Wolfe. Surprisingly good if you like a breezy murder mystery with a heavy dash of noir charm. :D

Another one that flies under the radar: Curb Your Enthusiasm. I have a running battle with my significantpersonother who loves Seinfeld (created by Larry David) but loathes Larry David who is effectively playing himself in Curb Your Enthusiasm, as being far too annoying and self-involved to tolerate. Yet apparently a lot of Seinfeld was drawn from his life. It's like Seinfeld, but with everything stretched out to a horrifying point where you can't bear to watch anymore.

On the other end of the spectrum from comedy, check out the miniseries House of Saddam. I dunno how the Kurds would feel about not getting one mention in the whole thing (unless I missed it) - kinda light on the crimes against humanity stuff, not to mention glossing over quite a bit of warfare - but I guess that's not the goal. Instead, it's a very up close look at Saddam and his dysfunctional extended family and hangers-on. Fascinating stuff, some good performances.

Okay, here's a question. Would I like Clone Wars? I liked the OT, sneered at the PT, and my idea of good TV sci fi is Lost, not Fringe; Farscape, not Stargate; Chuck, not Dollhouse; The X-Files, not Warehouse 13 - if any of that translates to something meaningful.

I second everyone else telling you to give Fringe another chance. The twists that happen in the second half of the season are pretty cool.

Journeyman
Kings
MillenniuM
NewsRadio
Oz
Prison Break
The Prisoner
Rescue Me
Six Feet Under
