William Shatner will not be in this film, unless a last minute change is made by the production crew.

Any posts talking about ways to bring him back into the mix should go into Future of Trek.

Any posts talking about "A recent poll says this:" or "The general public doesn't know Kirk is dead." Please make posts in relation to that film.

Poll information should go in the General Star Trek forum, or the News section.

Posts regarding Kirk's death should go in the Trek Movie forum, under a Star Trek Generations topic.

It's getting really hard to find PERTINENT, MEANINGFUL information about STAR TREK (2008) in this forum, because it's being flooded with FANWANK speculation.

If you want more of William Shatner's Captain Kirk, then check out his numerous "Shatnerverse" ego-trip novels.

Yes, I love William Shatner as much as the next Trekkie. I think it would be nice to see him make a cameo in the picture if possible, but it isn't going to happen. You'll run into all kinds of plot problems if you were to do something like that... Considering Spock is probably going to be 190 years old, that would make Kirk 189?

Quit cluttering up the forum with useless threads. The writing on this film is DONE and the filming wraps in three months.

Shatner isn't going to be in it. Don't expect some 11th hour announcement of a cameo.

Shatner will be invited to the premiere, though. He may even go.

I think there's a difference between talking about Shatner returning in a hypothetical future film or TV series than him appearing specifically in Trek IX. The conversation I've read has been of the latter variety.

He is not appearing in Trek IX, but most of the conversations seem to verge on the hypothetical whether or not he should, which is a more subjective question.

Let's not be too hard on InstantKarma.

Of the twenty-eight threads on the main page of this forum, an entire ONE is currently dedicated to wondering why Abrams and Co. couldn't find a way to bring Kirk back for Star Trek XI.

That's a lot for any man to have to wade through. I mean, how many hours are in a day?
