Playmates Toys

I was looking at the Admiral Kirk figure at Target and was cracking up that the figure had a Shatner-accurate dad-bod instead of a more generic torso.

It's especially noticeable when next to the extremely fit, trim Spock figure... :bolian:

Eh, it probably doesn't matter when they come out, kids in general don't really care about action figures all that much anymore, mine tried in order to humor me, but almost every one I bought them languished unplayed with at the bottom of the toy box.

I've finally seen the three TNG characters released so far, in stores recently. Both Data and Picard have really small hands. It's quite odd-looking.

Perfect timing. My nephew loved the Prodigy video game and the episodes, and it's just the right moment for something new to come along from that... and I see it comes with an unlock for the game, that's a pleasant surprise.

Yeah I wonder if there are issues with those and they just decided to go ahead with the first four? They look pretty good I thought.

Janeway presumably will be a popular figure so there’s a good chance of wave 2 coming.

Oh, so they’re 5-inch figures, that doesn’t go with the 3,75 inch scale used by Mattel for Jurassic World. The old Playmates and Kenner figures matched in range, my Tuvok had many an adventure on Isla Nublar.

The 90s figures were 4.5”, similar to the new line. They’ve never matched 3.75” lines.
Yeah, I noticed that change when Jurassic Park III came out and suddenly the figures were smaller than the 90s ones.

Oh well, if this was all produced in Germany it would follow a DIN standard.
