Playing with Sketchup again....

The naceles attached to the USS Theodore were just placeholders, cause they weren´t built by me. This changed now, cause I built my own naceles. Intentionally they are a bit different from the naceles of the traditional Ambassador class, just minor things that probably you won´t notice at the first look. In time: they aren´t finished yet.

What's with all the hidden geometry? Especially around your new RCS thruster... Plus: I see you chamfered them? You might want to reconsider that. It adds complexity to the model, but they're so small on 95% of the pictures you'll render that it isn't worth it. The nacelles do look a bit beefier though; I like that. The higher segment count also does the model good, which is especially evident in your bussard collector. Nice work!

Thank you my friend!
The thrusters don´t had all those hidden edges when I finished them. They appeared after a message of sketchup telling about geometry errors and if I would like of an automatic fix, which I accepted.
The bussards have al those hidden edges cause the use of artisan.
About chamfers, i do like them. I think they makes the mesh more "real". ;)

Oh, not talking about the outer ridge; that's good. I was talking about the chamfer around the holes that's a bit... redundant.

Update!
I wasn´t so happy with the previous impulse engines, so, I changed them. Looks better? I also put some detalis and colors over the shuttlebay doors.

Painting of the hull was changed a bit. I also added the escape pods and numbered the ship. To understand how to copy move and align a object to a surface in Sketchup was a difficult mission, and it took me a lot of time to do it the right way. But I´m pretty sattisfed in the end, cause I drew just one escape pod and the rest of them were a "copy, move, align" job made in a fast way. :)

Wow, this looks impressive. To be honest, I didn't know renders of that quality were possible in Sketchup. I guess the application has come a long way from its early days a few year ago.

That's because it's not rendered in SketchUp, but probably in Kerkythea. Everything I model is rendered in there as well :-)

I use Sketchfab for all my renders now! But M has not obviously seen some of your older work rendered from Sketchup models, equally beautiful!
