How about not watching the "good" episodes? I find that I've watched ones like Yesterday's Enterprise, All Good Things, Darmok etc enough times that they just don't have the same impact. Even Best of Both Worlds didn't quite hit the spot (you can tell which episodes I had on video).
On the other hand, the last episode I watched was Devil's Due, which I hadn't seen for years, and only twice at the most. I thought it was absolutely superb on all counts. You could do worse than start with that one. Dark Page really impressed me too - I watched that recently because it seemed the most fitting after Majel's death, and I was not disappointed. A real tear-jerker under the circumstances.
I tried a similar thing with The Masterpiece Society, of which I had no recollection, but unfortunately, there was a reason for that. It turned out to be utter garbage, so I assume I'd blanked it from memory. Violations too - I swear this is one of the very worst. Another Troi mind-rape story with a weird love interest? I'd rather watch Shades of Grey.
At least with Masks you get to enjoy Brent Spiner making a complete tit out of himself, and the brilliant glazed expession that Stewart has on his face for the entire 42 minutes. Even he can't quite believe the absurdity of the situation. On the other hand, Frakes just looks pissed off, which is quite funny to watch. Anyone who claims they could have done an eighth season really needs to be forced to watch the entirety of the seventh - not just Pegasus, Parallels, Pre-emptive Strike and All Good Things.
