Pitch a new space opera!

The subject of a new Star Trek series is done to death over at the Future of Trek forum. Ideas for something other than a Trek series would be nice too.

I don't care. If I had a chance to pitch one series, that is the one Id pitch, because it is in the most dire need of being made and has a strong chance of getting picked up, maybe the strongest of any idea in this thread. Of course, I certainly wouldn't be pitching it, I'd get Bryan Fuller or JJ Abrams to do the honors instead, so that CBS would give us the time of day. the person doing the pitch is probably the most important factor in its success.

Also, you might notice that Im not saying much about the content of the series, because I don't actually think that matters too much, either in the pitch or in how the show turns out. Many ideas could be executed well, and those same ideas could be executed poorly.

Now that I think of it, there have been some decent sci fi series concepts that made it through development pretty far before being squelched, justly or otherwise. Two standouts:

Revolution - war between Earth colony & Earth. This concept could be done w/ a colony on Mars, or elsewhere.

Beyond - Near future, realistic story of the first manned mission to Mars. This idea might appeal to premium cable.

I'd go for anything involving meta-humans - cyborg or genetic, or both. It's not too far off...

There's a whole forum dedicated to ideas for new Trek shows. Let's hear about something other than Trek--anything else--for a change.

Xenoalien meets Metamorph....Sorry, that's my SyFy film currently in development.

I meant Metaalien Vs. Xenomorph - a new take on the Alien/Prometheus movies. This time, humanity has interbred with both species. Everything is a shade of gray now. Humans are cannon fodder for both sides. Season 3 debuts the Cryptobeast, the secret project developed by humanity to defeat the hordes. In the end, the bad guys win it all. I'm thinking we'll pit the Predalien against Cryptobeast, and the Predator aliens will appear at least once a season to reboot the battle.

Unlike Syfy's other series shot in the Pacific NW and British Columbia, it will be shot in various locations in Montana, Wyoming, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.

It won't make a dime.

I got that beat. Whenever I imagine Honor Harrington filmed I picture Yancy Butler playing her.

I'm thinking Hayley Atwell...
