Pine's makeover to make him look like Kirk

Shatner never turned me on as Kirk, even in his prime on TOS, but Pine... I think I going to love this new Kirk!

Oh, how recent was that picture of Pine taken? I can't access Trekmovie.com at work. I know they're still filming though, so if that's a very recent picture, then we're getting a young Captain Kirk with thicker eyebrows like it or not. If you have to take that into canon, we'll just say at some point before the TOS adventures began Kirk decided to start plucking them.

I guess they could use CGI to thin them but that seems like a waste of money to me when they could have had the actor pluck for no cost if it were THAT important (which I don't think it is but we Trek fans love grousing over the smallest details! ).

So, if there are to be any sequels, will the producers decide to color Chris Pine's hair color from blond highlights to dark curly brown to match Bill Shatner's 80's hairdo?

Well, that's assuming the sequels, if we get them, will take place that far in the future. The sequels could just as easily all take place during the TOS era.

I've never seen any of the Princess Diaries. The only thing I think I've ever seen Pine in is Smokin' Aces; And he was pretty good in that. He'll have to lose the southern accent for Kirk though, Unless he just did that for the character.

Bill Shatner is a very hairy guy, evidenced by photos of his very hairy chest and arms during the 1970's.

But, he sure did a good job of waxing his entire body during his TOS days, though.

One of Pine's best features, from a girl's POV, is his eyes. He has beautiful eyes.

It would be a really bad idea to change them to brown.

Chris Pine was born in LA (from an old Hollywood family, his grandparents are listed on imdb!), so the Southern accent was probably a fake. But imdb turned up some far more interesting info, his grandmother, Anne Gwynne, was in Flash Gordon eons ago.

Since Flash Gordon is the grandfather of Captain Kirk, this all works out beautifully.

Is Fred Gwynne his grandfather? That'd be cool because then he'd be the grandson of Herman Munster too! BTW his dad is Robert Pine fron CH"I"PS isn't he? I think he did an episode of Enterprise back during the first season as well.
