I just finished Rise of the Federation: Live by the Code. I would love to see an image of the Pegenoi. I always like when new species, that are not typical humanoids are introduced. Based on the limited description, I picture a huge lumbering species like the Dowutin from Star Wars.

Kind of subtle, but the VOY relaunch novels depicting the Full Circle fleet established the Vesta-class USS Esquiline NCC-82614.
In a recent update of Star Trek Online, the Vesta-class ISS Esquiline NCC-82614 is depicted on a holographic display of ships assigned to mirror Earth Spacedock.

This is somewhat indirect but Star Trek Online is introducing the Da Vinci (da Vinci?) class.
It is a miracle worker escort, and the 25th century version of the Saber class.
The new USS da Vinci/USS Da Vinci is a reference to the Corps of Engineers novels.

The vessel has a "Troyius Protocol" trait, which allows to temporarily stealth/hide itself and become untargetable. This is a reference to the original USS da Vinci hiding Troyius from the Borg in Destiny.

That's...kinda awesome!

This breakthrough may be of use for those of us who want to see what the novels' ships look like:

In STO, I've attempted to approximate the Starfleet uniform of 2161-2165, as depicted in the Rise of the Federation series.


It's happenstance that I fell back on the ENT (2130-2155) uniform. With the mandarin collar and visible undershirt, it's the closest thing. Can't have wrist rank stripes, so I used the mirror ENT uniform - those ranks are epaulettes. The chest belting is not removable, unfortunately. The uniform does not work for women because the mirror version is bare-bellied.

By the way, Starfleet's contemporary jumpsuit variant, first seen in Star Trek Beyond, is not available in game, either.

That's too bad. Ever since Beyond came out, I've wanted to see someone adapt the Franklin-era uniforms with the color scheme and 2-piece design of my rough sketch. I think it would make more sense if the two were variants of the same basic design, and the Franklin uniforms are canonical while mine was just a concept sketch, so the former should be the baseline.

Upon closer examination, one could be justified in assuming that the two uniforms of the 2160s are closely related variants.
Back when ENT was first released, I wondered how it'd look if the area inside the department color on the shoulder was filled in. The Franklin jumpsuit kinda has that.

If the uniform was in STO, to apply the ROTF color scheme, I'd switch the chest piping to blue, make the trousers black, and turn the shirt to avocado (or burgundy, darker grey, or blue). The Franklin department patch on the shoulders is where rank is on the ROTF uniform. The jumpsuit having no rank insignia dovetails with the practical jumpsuits worn by Archer-class crews in ST: Vanguard.

Also, Spock could pass for a 32nd century admiral in his Franklin outfit.
