Well, "Farpoint" was filmed 26 years ago and that's pretty much the same timespan between "Where No Man Has Gone Before (TOS)" and Star Trek VI. Look how much the original cast aged between 1965 and 1991.

Honestly, Frakes doesn't look all that bad for a guy who's spent almost thirty years as a major part of the Trek franchise. I hope I'm even half that good-looking when I'm his age.

Haha, I get the Norton comparison a lot. Him and Russell Crowe.

Frakes was a total ham on stage, really funny and goofy...much more so than I anticipated. He threw a banana at a guy for insinuating that DS9 was better than TNG. And for a 61 year old, I too can't say I would mind looking that good when I'm his age. I didn't recognize him completely at first but the voice was unmistakable.

Oh, and he called me Number One after seeing my shirt (which got a lot of smiles and comments) so that was pretty cool.

This was taken last week at the Pleasanton Veterans Day Parade in which I rode with my fellow Warriors' Watch Riders. Quite possibly the coolest I have ever looked in a photograph.

Hey Flux, just out of curiosity, what are the helmet laws like in CA?

Over here they are only required if the operator/passenger is under 18.

They're required for riders and passengers of all ages, but since we were in a parade that barely passed walking speed we had the option to go without. Once we reached the end of the route we geared back up for the ride home. It did feel very odd to ride without, much like driving without a seat belt.
