PICTURE POST II!

Kestra, that looks like a wondrous spread to celebrate your Mom's birthday. So cool that you guys did that for her.

That's great Kestra.

My Dad and brother's birthdays are next to mine in March so I know what its like to celebrate community birthdays. It's awesome when you can focus on one person with a big event.

Yeah! It's fun to celebrate together but every now and then it's nice to focus on one person. :)

What a great idea! That's one heck of a nice spread.

Wait...you're turning 30?? You whipppersnapper, you. I barely remember 30.

 I've had mixed feelings about turning 30 but overall I'm feeling pretty well and looking forward to my 30s. I have two good friends out here who had birthdays within the past month and we decided to drive down to Monterey/Carmel this weekend and get a hotel one night. Beach, shopping, wine-tasting ... I can't think of a better way to spend my birthday!

Thanks. :)

Took this shot from the Ferris Wheel at Kemah. It was a fun day, but much, much too hot. And yes, we went on the coaster first.

It's great to do something for your mom, because moms are usually behind the scenes doing things for everyone else. :)

It's nice to be able to do something nice for your parents. When I was living in Romania my Sister and Father came to visit me and we took a weekend trip to Budapest, Hungary. That weekend just so happened to be my Father's 65th birthday so we arranged to take him on a dinner cruise along the Danube river. It is the most animated I have ever seen my Father. He kept saying "this is awesome", so mission accomplished!

Finally got to see Crispin Glover's Big Slide Show as It's currently in Kansas City. I've been wanting to see it for a few years and actually missed it when I was in Memphis because I was at a military training exercise those two days. It was worth the wait! Excellent performance on stage by Glover and the two films were interesting. I was very impressed with Crispin Glover. In spite of his reputation, I found him to be extremely polite and relatively normal. He also is very generous to his fans. The after show signing took forever because he talked to every audience member for at least 5 minutes each at his table. If you can stomach the content of the films (i advise anyone read a few interviews or articles to decide if it is for them) I can't recommend the show enough.

^^^ What vibrant colors! Beautiful flowers. :)

That coaster does not look reliable.

That sounds awesome. Also you know how some people just look like nice people? That's you and your family.

I've been scanning old family pics so I present to you, siblings:

Thinking of this thread, I had a tuna pizza with onions yesterday evening. It was very good. They put on the onions only at the end of cooking, so they were still crunchy. Bravo.

So...do you use a standard tomato sauce with tuna or is there something else more complimentary? <she asks in puzzlement...still having a hard time getting her own head around tuna on a pizza>
Normal tomato sauce for me. Usually I put mozzarella di bufala on my pizza, but standard mozzarella is ok too. Other kinds of cheese might be ok, depending on toppings (speck and gorgonzola is a favourite of mine, for example), but they are too strong for tuna, so mozzarella is actually the only choice there.

Are we about the same age? That photo is so late '70s/early '80s with those haircuts and clothes and I have some of my own that don't look all that different. ;)

We were born the same year, then. Thought as much.

You never forget your old Luke Skywalker haircut and flared trousers, no matter how many years ago it was.

God, I hope I won't feel the same at 40 as I did when I was 20. I needed a hard smack in the head back then.

Besides, I'm more fit than I was at 20....

Not me, sadly. My body was in better shape when I was in college. I've never been very athletic nor remarkably fit, but I was leaner, quicker and more spry when I was 20 than I am now.

And the less said about the "evolution" of my hairline the better.
