50 miles south of D.C.
With moving upstate to Syracuse, my mother-in-law moved with us. She was flooded out of her home with Hurricane Sandy and would have no one down there to rely on if anything happen. Part of the deal with her moving was that she would have a space of her own. So we found a house with a finished basement but it needed a kitchen. We found a place with a wet bar and I'm converting it to be a kitchen. Here are a few picture of the tile job I just finished, now I just need to grout and seal. While I know it's not 100% perfect, not bad considering this is the first time I did tiling by myself without my brother.

Nice choice of tiles. If I may add my two cents, I would strongly recommend using a dark grout with those tiles. I used the same tiles to redo my shower and they lost all their character when I made the mistake of using white grout. You really need the contrast of a darker grout to appreciate them.
I have been thinking about that. I did get ultra white for the grout, but have been questioning it ever since. I was thinking maybe a light silver, so would still be in the white family but make the tiles pop.

Crocuses (is that right? croci?) are just starting to pop up here right now.
For Christmas my sisters, friends, and I put together the money to get my mom a tattoo and booked her an appointment. She's had a horrible, faded tattoo on her shoulder for decades. At one time it was a poorly executed wreath of wisteria, but by the time she was in her mid 30s it was an unidentifiable blob. She's always hated it, but there was always something more important to spend her money on than getting it fixed. I was really excited to give her this gift. She finally got it done today, and it looks awesome!

I've never had a tattoo (at one point I thought of getting one, but that point is long since passed), and don't think I'll ever end up getting one for myself. But there's no question: Tattoo is art - as evidenced by this. Very cool Tat ... even cooler gift idea.
^Indeed! And she's really happy with it, which is the best part.

Cool! What a nice thing to do for your mother
Me and my brother are thinking to do something similar for my dad when he turns 60, except with a car instead of a tattoo.
