PICTURE POST II!

My wife got to meet Auburn's new head football coach Gus Malzahn yesterday when he came by her school to talk with a student who has committed there. She's an Auburn alum, so she was rather giddy about getting to meet him face-to-face.

I went through quite a transformation recently after November ended and I finally shaved the beard. I'd been letting my hair grow out for months too so I was pretty...scruffy. I took a shot before and after the hair cut and then another one today (in the car to keep everything consistent) after having shaved. I swear I look 5-10 years younger when I lose the majority of my facial hair. If only I could have remembered which way my head had been turned... ;)

I went hiking today and took some photos.

This is nothern part of Hong Kong SAR, called New Territories. If you thought that Hong Kong is just concrete and glass, now you know better :)

Went to the Houston "Zoo Lights," its new Christmas celebration/fundraiser, where the entire zoo is covered in lights. Most of the animals are tucked away for the night, so it's mostly just lights, music, food & drink, etc. We walked it last night; it was really fun, but very crowded. Here are some shots I was able to get with my crappy pocket camera:

Nice, auntiehill! I should have mentioned somewhere that I've been in Houston for the past four daysfor a family wedding. Leaving early tomorrow a.m. We actually talked about going to the zoo for the lights, but the timing ust didn't work out.

Ah. Well, parking was a nightmare, so it definitely had some drawbacks. They will probably do it again next year.

^Those pictures made me miss our Dalmatians :(

Today I filtered this years x-mas snaps. Here is my shelf of bitters:

  • "Dutch Bitter".²
The small bottle behind the Dutch Bitter isn't of my own making but a locally made Calva.
______________

¹ - With both Star Anise and Liquorice Root in the mix it is rather liquorice-ish.
² - A mix of herbs I bought because I liked the fact that I only recognized about half of them :rommie:

Ruaidhri, so sorry for you loss. :( Lily was such a beautiful looking dalmatian. And it's so heart warming to hear about your relationship with her. Dogs can be amazing animals, so thoughtful and emotional. At least she led a good long life and you've got many great memories to cherish.

The problem with not keeping up with this thread is that I end up with so many pictures I want to comment on. But since I'm so far behind, I'll just do this...

Beautiful children, cat and dog (RIP Lily). Sad pics of the Jersey shore.

About two weeks ago, just after I got my braces off:

Good looking young man.

And, OMG, I would've melted to the floor if Michael Dorn had put his hand on my shoulder like that!

An Officer, where did you take those photos? I absolutely love that one featuring the blanket of leaves all over. We had a terrible autumn in our area this past season... leaves got blown off before they could really peak. :(
