So I just got the iPhone X and asked my husband to snap a shot of me in portrait mode the other night, it’s pretty cool. I love picutes, so I’m excited about this feature. It looks a lot better than the standard photo mode. We just recently got a DSLR camera though, I’m hoping that will produce some neat shots too...once we figure out how to use it haha
What model did you get?

Thanks for asking! We got a Nikon D7000 DSLR, it’s tricky though. We can’t figure out how to make it take pictures quicker. It takes 5 seconds in between each shot.

not that familiar with DSLR but see if there are options for image size, image format and the memory card. If it's saving a full resolution image (large file size) in raw format (file size is bigger than jpeg) to slow media (there are different types of SD cards) it's going to take a few second between photos.
It shouldn't. Even my old Rebel XT could take bursts of up to 3 pictures a second for a few seconds before the buffer filled up and paused to write to the memory card. A quick google tells me the D7000 is capable of 6 fps continuous shooting up to 100 shots.
It is true not every memory card is equal, but it shouldn't be taking 5 seconds between shots even shooting in RAW. It must be a setting.

Thanks guys! I’ll look into it a little more and try to change up a few settings. It’s on the factory settings now, I haven’t changed anything since we got it.
Just checked, it’s off.
Also @Marc I changed the image size to medium (it was on large), that didn’t seem to make a difference.
I noticed it only happens when I’m using the flash. When the flash is off, there’s only a 1sec delay.
hmm could be the recharge time for the flash (though I think that would be more the case if using a large external flash) or the camera has to do extra processing.
I'd hit google and see if there's any discussion on the D7000 and it's flash
Ok good call, it came right up on google. Apparently I had red eye on? I fooled around with a few things and it’s off now I think. Either way, looks like it’s working! Thanks guys!!!
