PICTURE POST II!

Incoming image dump!

It seems I haven't posted in a while so here's a little catch up on what's been going on for the last year.

Me with my son just after he was born last year. He'll turn 1 in just under a month now!

And finally, it wouldn't be a Trek BBS post without a little Trek...

I wish my parent/s had been such big nerds like you guys. My life would've been so much fun.

@Kirk's_Tights! Nice to see you, apologies for late reply!

I haven't posted in here in a while either, I usually do it... elsewhere.:shifty:

So here's a couple of my grandkids who are the light of my world.

^ What cutie-pies! It must be fun to unload professional-level spoiling on such cuteness. ;)

Just got back last night from visiting my friends in Pennsylvania. They live close to the Delaware border. It's so lovely there; even though it was grey and drizzling the whole time, I was surrounded by color with all the beautiful trees and flowers--quite a change from the concrete swamp of the Houston area. My best friend is in very poor health, so we could only do short trips, but they took me to some lovely spots--the Brandywine museum (where all the Wyeths et al. have their works) and we also went to Winterthur--one day for seeing the house and museum (my inner history-nerd was in heaven) and another day to walk the garden (my friend uses a scooter and was zooming along ahead of us).

I'll spare you the gazillion photos of the house and all the artifacts and just post a few shots of the gardens:

This is the entrance to the Brandywine museum--right as you walk in. So lovely. The river is framed like a piece of art.

It's not his actual Birthday until Friday, but we celebrated my son's birthday yesterday. I have over 400 pictured to go through, but here's one I took with my iPhone.

That wagon was mine as a little boy and I only recently rediscovered it on a visit to my Dad's place a few months ago. It had been sitting in his basement unused for at least the last 35 years!

I miss forsythia. Those yellow blooms signal coming of the spring. I remember our forsythia bushes out back starting to bloom in late March or early April even when there was still snow cover, when I was growing up.

I looked up whether they are present in Texas at all, and it looks like they tend to be found in the northern-eastern part of Texas...favoring the piney woods area I guess.

This past weekend, there was an annual event called "Doors Open." Buildings not normally open to the public (or not normally fully open) are opened up. Some have exhibits, some have guided tours, and others are just open for people to look around. At City Hall, they had an exhibit in the lobby that was mounted by the Canadian Alliance of Film & Television Costume Arts & Design, featuring costumes from a number of movie and TV productions that are made here in Toronto. Here are a few of the photos I took today.

From a children's show called "Odd Squad":

And one of several costumes from "The Shape Of Water" (unfortunately they didn't have Doug Jones' costume):

I have more, including several closeups, in an album which should be publicly viewable, here: https://imgur.com/a/sRerrbD

Also, AMAZING shirt.
Thanks.

There's actually a Con story there. I was attending Elizabeth Henstridge's panel wearing that shirt, and at one point when she was asked about the most recent season finale of Agents of SHIELD, she said she was getting "too emotionally attached to these characters". After the panel I went to her table and pointed at my shirt. She loved it so much that she took a photo of me, and asked where I got it. Then we exchanged phone numbers and promised to stay in touch.

Okay, yeah, I made that last part up
