This will be the sixth time I've seen him solo or with the full band in the past 15 years or so. Their March 2013 show in Boston sucked (partially because the acoustics at the Boston Orpheum are criminally bad), but the Milwaukee Theater is a great venue and I'm looking forward to it. I doubt anything will top Chicago in June 2003, when it was a much bigger band, but ... it's fuckin' Nick Cave and we're in Row B. Not like I'm going to turn that down.
I like a lot of scenic shots. I wouldn't be surprised if my dislike of the up close shots has to do with all my allergies. I've developed certain associations, some I'm conscious of (cringing when I smell fresh cut grass) and some I'm probably not aware of.
I really need to take advantage of where I live and take more pictures but it's been such a low priority compared to everything else. I also feel like I couldn't possibly do justice to the architecture in this city.
Yeah, I actually brought my dSLR and two lenses, but the Milwaukee Theater staff confiscated them at the front door and held them until we left. I was hoping that with such great seats I could get some amazing shots of the band (such a wonderful surprise to see James Johnston back on guitar), but, hey, our seats were quite literally dead-center:
