‘Star Trek: Picard’ Production Paused After 50 Positive for COVID-19 – The Hollywood Reporter
Filming on Paramount+ drama Star Trek: Picard has been shut down since Monday following a sizable COVID-19 outbreak.

Sources say more than 50 members of the large production tested positive on Monday, which was the first day of work after the Christmas break. The Patrick Stewart-led series has one of television’s biggest crews, numbering more than 450 staffers. The infections impacted multiple zones, including cast in zone A.

Production on the series was immediately shut down Monday and has remained dark since. Sources say filming is expected to resume early next week, if not sooner, though details remain in limbo.

Came in Monday and a good 20% of the office was out for the week because of the Vid.. Bit distressing but glad this go around looks to be light.
Good luck all.

I’ve been really good at wearing a mask, got two shots and not going out but somehow still managed to catch Omicron. Fortunately it’s only manifested as heavy flu (I guess due to vaccine), but it shows how virulent the new strain is.

Whilst I’m glad to hear Patrick is okay, my thoughts also go out to the unnamed 50 who are suffering.

Wow! That's alot of people sick with covid. I hope everyone recovers from being ill from covid. I'm glad Patrick didn't get it. Terry Matlas posted on twitter says he's doing okay. This is distressing news indeed.

It's 50 out of 450 approximate crew members on the show, which is like 11%. Plus it sounds like they just returned from holiday break and these were the initial tests, so to be expected. They are resuming next week I think.

With many of the actors now a little, er, long in the tooth shall we say...
Eh? Aside from Patrick Stewart being in his 80s and Isa Briones in her 20s everyone else in Picard's main cast is between the ages of 30 and 50, so not really that "long in the tooth."

Unless you're referring to the TNG cast?

Since there have been question marks raised elsewhere over whether or not Captain Rios and La Sirena are still in the show for season three, let me just note here that Santiago Cabrera was seen in Chile over the New Year, visiting his family - a fan posted a pic on Twitter, 2 Jan. What are the quarantine rules for getting back into California from overseas at the moment?

Trekmovie posted an article that Star Trek Picard season 3 on Friday is back in production Terry Matalas posted on twitter Back to work. And posted a picture of a starship.
