Spoilers Picard News & Reviews from Outside Sources

I don't think Star Trek: The Next Next Generation cuts it as a title.

My guess is Legacy is being used to announce in big, bold letters, "THIS IS NOT A PREQUEL OR REBOOT!!!!"

It was the same reasoning they had when they named its parent series Star Trek: Picard. "PICARD! HEY, LOOK! WE'VE GOT PICARD HERE!!!! SIR PATRICK STEWART!!!!!" They're not that creative with these titles.

Star Trek: Infinity should be the title, or something like that. Something that suggests an ongoing narrative rather than a word like Legacy.
IIRC, Legacy is what Matalas wanted to call the third season of Picard, but Paramount overruled him saying "the show's title is Picard." So now, he just really wants to use the Legacy title really bad.

I suppose it doesn’t really matter what it’s called. Actually at this point it isn’t even a thing, just an idea.

The Trekmovie interview with Blass makes clear that the opposite is true. Nothing's being done, no one's being talked to, and according to Blass time is running out.

A lot of backhanded remarks about the shows that really are being made.

Personally, I really hope it doesn't happen. Normally I'd take the approach of "it's not for me, but other people might like it" but with new Trek shows I'd see it as taking the slot of another theoretical show that I'd rather see.

I'm all for a 25th century show...I just have no interest in a 'Seven and Raffi on the Enterprise-G' show. Especially if it's remotely like Picard.

It should look like Star Trek. It should look like what an evolution of what Star Trek: The Next Generation would look like.
...except with most of the lights turned out. ;)

Yeah, I picked up on that. I shouldn't let it bug me, but every time I see one of these Matalas disciples making their snide little remarks, I kinda hope they never get their precious "Legacy."
It's simple envy.

Let the SNW people do a new TNG show. Bring all the revised canon into line. ;)

I am waiting on a dvd set of season 3. Does the USA have different release dates to Australia because it is available in the USA but we have to wait till November, but I ordered a set from the USA and it's only days away

The U.S. uses a metric time scale based on lunar cycles rather than the 24 hour international system.

I just read that Dave Blass interview on Trekmovie. He sure as shit did not sell Legacy as a series to me. "We'd have this show look like Traditional Star Trek. We'd build a traditional engine room like TNG or Voyager had." So it'll go back to the 1990s and pretend the last thirty years haven't happened. Blech.

Also, LOL "Greenlight this before you lose Matalas. Every other franchise wants him to do for them what he did for Trek with Picard S3." Yeah, no.

He makes this series sound even less appealing to me than it did before. And it didn't appeal to me to begin with.

I would encourage people to track down the most recent Star Trek Magazine as there is an interview discussing constructing the TNG Bridge again and Matalas' directives. It would be very informative as to a possible view going forward.

Isn't that kind of how it comes across in many opinions of different Trek fan groups around the franchise? Be more like this Trek I like from the past and ignore all other iterations.

The issue with Legacy is that they obviously don't have an idea other than "get however many TNG era veterans we can afford and do Star Trek stuff on 1990s sets". Like, what's the unique proposition here?

We already have a show with the USS Enterprise crew doing Star Trek stuff.

The Picard movie that Stewart keeps talking up has more chance of happening IMO.
