No there are woke conservatives and unwoke liberals, in fact there is nothing liberal about the soft fascism of wokeness, whose tyranny is blowing up in the faces of the woke and innocent people alike now as a huge backlash that had been building up for years finally erupts scaring the piss out of many woke corporations.

Being woke isn’t fascist, it’s the exact opposite

Nah. I don't have the time or the desire to deal with whatever else he's going to come up with.

Maybe someone should start a "Political Allegory in STAR TREK: PICARD" (and only STP) thread?

I would, but I'm on my way out of being Very Online® and returning to Real Life(TM) soon.

Horseshoe theory (and history) demonstrates that you can have authoritarian / totalitarian elements at both ends of the political spectrum. Allegory done well, like season 3 -- where people can have multiple readings of a situation -- will naturally cause them to fill in the gaps with their own interpretations of reality. The Borg are the ultimate totalitarian collectivists... but they are a force of artificial nature far more than a specific ideology.

Maybe some outside reviewer has done a political analysis of an aspect of STP? Then we can circle the thread back on topic <G>.

^ There's probably such a review out there somewhere. But said review would probably also compare PIC to other Trek series as well.

Avoiding Series vs. Series discussions altogether just isn't realistic.

Wokeness unlike extremists on both sides want to believe, is NOT a synanom with progressive nor leftwing. Its a partilar set of connected and aligned academic theories, flawed to begin with, but utterly warped and perverted when they got into the hands of pop culture dipshits and their enablers, which only got worse as social media encouraged echochambers and polarization.

And left and rightwing are supposed to refer to economics, but the stupid culture war, big corporations encouraged it on purpose to cripple the left.

Progressive and Traditionalist are the proper cultural terms, but wokeness warped Progressive and pushed a ton of Progressive who refused to accept the increasing extremism, into a ln unholy unwoke coalition with traditionalists, where in some cases the traditionalists rubbed off on the Progressives.

JK Rowling was once a champion and darling of the GLBT community, now she's their satan, she didn't change, they did, thanks to a crippling woke infection. Unless we are to believe she is magically alt right over 1 issue.

Things are more complicated when someone like me can step away and look at the culture war somewhat objectively and indepedantly.

Amazing how you wrote all that and still didn't provide a coherent definition of "wokeness" and what makes it bad.
