Picard film in development

Who said anything about being an "Action Hero"?

He just wants some screen time, let the young actors/actresses do the "Action Hero" stuff.

Personally, I want the 3x Sons of JLP to team up and go on a wild adventure.

- Jean-Luc Picard After-Story -
In my head canon, Picard is Wesley's Step-Father & Picard has 2x Wives (Polygamy is a common & legal thing in the UFP)
Picard is married to Beverly & Laris
Laris & Picard both later on adopt Elnor as their "Adopted Son".

So Picard would effectively be:
- Step-Father to Wesley Crusher
- Biological-Father to Jack Crusher (Jack will eventually adopt a Hyphenated Crusher-Picard sur-name)
- Adopted-Father to Elnor, (Elnor will eventually adopt the Picard sur-name)

The 3x sons of Picard will go on wacky & fun adventures through-out time & space thanks to Wesley being a Traveler while still making time to come home & see "Mom's & Dad" at the Chateau.
Gives whole new meaning to "My Three Sons."

Maybe it will be a comedy.

He was trying to be an action hero in Picard. He failed miserably. Admittedly, it's my guess that he wants more of that, but between Picard, the dune buggies and machine-gunning the Borg, I'd say it's a pretty good guess.

I think Patrick Stewart had his share of action when he was a younger man.

Have you noticed in all 3x seasons of Picard, most of the action has been handled by the younger actors who can still move decently while the older actors like JLP are largely stationary or doesn't move much.

Even in the main action scene in season 1, JLP is just moved into a safe hiding space while young Isa Briones was doing all the fighting against the Romulan Assassins.

In S3 of PIC, firing a phaser while standing still is hardly "Action Hero" material.

He's not a young man anymore, let's put him in a role befitting of his age.

I worry about Patrick Stewart moving around at that age, one bad fall could be fatal.

As long as it's a action comedy.

The parents could largely start/end cap the episodes with dialogue and be there for Video Calls across time/space when our 3x younger actors who play Picards Sons do all the main heavy lifting.

Wil Wheaton playing the oldest son as Wesley Crusher is currently 51 y/o IRL.
I'm wondering how spry is he currently? I'm glad he's a Traveler and has super powers & genius level engineering skills and not designed for the "Action Role" while we have the two younger sons for the Action bits.

Elnor being the Sword wielding Romulan Monk/Ranger type role.

Jack Crusher being the Gun Slinger of the two and a medic by training.

I don't know. I love Picard but enough is enough. I wouldn't mind him doing a guest spot on a "Legacy" episode or even a cameo. Especially if was the first episode.

I do think I could get behind a young Picard movie. Whether it was before he was a Captain or when he was Captain of the Stargazer. Stewart could narrate the movie as he tells the story in flashbacks.

Since PIC S3 was one of the 2 best new seasons since ENT S4, I hope they do more exciting stuff with elements from there

I’m so excited because it sounds like the kind of project where the experimentation that I want to do will be essential for this kind of material.
Please no more SPS experimentation!

It could be a follow-up to the Section 31 film.
Then it could go deeper into that station where they keep Kirk :D

He doesn't even have enough breath to deliver a complete line, yet he wants to be an action hero.
Source?

I think in development is generous. Sir Pat loves to gab these days.

It might be a backdoor pilot to Star Trek: Legacy.

A streaming movie starring Sir Patrick might give Legacy the political cover it needs to film in L.A. ("You know how Sir Patrick prefers to stay in L.A. ...").

The Battlestar Galactica reboot did something similar (they built the sets for the miniseries and kept them for the series).

Yeah, this is not going to happen. Sir Patrick has about as much wishful thinking as Terry Matalas does with his Legacy nonsense.

Wasn't the end of Picard season 3 enough of a backdoor pilot?

they built the sets for the miniseries and kept them for the series

So.... they'd build the sets in L.A.... Wait, scratch that. They'd REBUILD the sets in Los Angeles. Film the movie. Then they'd tear it all down, again, to ship it to Toronto and film a series? All because Sir Patrick doesn't want to take a 5 hour, first class flight to Canada?

Yeah...... I don't think we need anymore adventures with Jean-Luc Picard that badly.

This does happen, this is basically that old Simpsons joke about Star Trek XII So Very Tired coming true, only Simpsons had the TOS cast continuing on as senior citizens while in reality we would be getting the TNG cast doing that.

Eh, who am I kidding? We already got exactly that with Picard S3.

The Enterprise-G can go through a refit.

They're not going to ship it to Toronto.

Moving sets is a VERY expensive proposition (Birds of Prey did it. It ate up the season's budget. It's one reason it was cancelled.)

Sir Patrick is 83. He has considerable star power.

If they're going to make a series, it will be filmed in Toronto.

That might have been true while CBS/Paramount was throwing money around like drunken sailors. But they'll be looking to pinch every penny and that means filming in Toronto.
