Spoilers Picard: COUNTDOWN! - Comic is available, spoiler discussion within

Patrick Stewart used to be quite strict with his likeness in tie-ins (hence the same photo gracing a half-dozen novels), I wonder if his new Picard contract gives him less control over this stuff than his TNG/movie one did.

Considering the old Countdown comic book was thrown completely out the window with the Data situation, will this comic book, presumably covering the evacuation of Romulus, be a do-over with perhaps throwaway lines referencing Spock stopping the supernova and Nero interfering?

Remember, this is the third comic prequel from IDW with "Countdown" in the title; their prequel to STID was Countdown to Darkness. So this isn't likely to be a "do-over" of the first one, since the title isn't unique to the first one. All the title means is that it's another IDW prequel comic.

I loved the stories of how, back in the early 90s, DC would have an inker on staff redo Picard's hair because Patrick Stewart wanted it longer.

Hm the second one has no obvious Romulan imagery like the 1st and second.

Exactly. The Picard Vineyard is on Earth. ;) (EDIT: Hah, the other link I saw today had three alternate covers for #1, with Picard and his dog, "No 1", in the middle!)

According to the comic, Picard's new ship is named the Verity, and we will see it in the comic (whether we actually see it in STP remains to be seen.) We also see desktop models of the Enterprise-E and the STO Enterprise-F (hopefully we won't see the actual ship in the show, but this contradicts the information on the info card of the Enterprise-E model which states that the ship is still in service as of 2399.)

So, they're going with Picard's admiral uniform being a fancier version of the 2380s uniform as opposed to showing the Lower Decks uniforms. Though I guess we could still go with both being around as a Class A/B sort of thing.

Doubt that's going to be acknowledged in either show or this comic, though.
