No, the Worf joke must be explained. All unseen events alluded to must be seen. Feed me, for I cannot go on with this hole in my soul.

The biggest obstacle is a writers strike.
Then there's Paramount tightening it's belt as multiple media companies are doing.
more like a proof that a lot of bad luck, questionable decisions and corporate meddling can ruin a movie.STV is proof that there comes a time when you just have to let go of characters who really have no business doing the same thing they did 35 years ago.
Just to go slightly off topic, what’s your opinion of TUC? (I think it’s mostly dorky and cheesy, and is startlingly unsubtle about what it’s analogy for, but I still have a soft spot for it.)STV is proof that there comes a time when you just have to let go of characters who really have no business doing the same thing they did 35 years ago.
STV: TFF was a precursor to the TNG films – a glorified “television movie” made with too much creative control given away to a cast member at the detriment of quality storytelling.more like a proof that a lot of bad luck, questionable decisions and corporate meddling can ruin a movie.

I don't live in USA, so I don't know about the strike. But I'm curious, why the writers strike seems happen a lot.
Hi all,
Long time lurker here!
I met Jonathan Frakes at an expo recently. He's absolutely lovely, and left a great impression on me. I put it out there that I hope there is one more TNG film to come. He said he hoped so too, as he felt the cast was currently on "fire".
I wanted to ask him more about this on a Q&A panel, but didn't have a chance.
Considering that Picard ended on an open note, the series had strong critical and commercial success, I think we could get a really great film. Patrick Stewart wants to do it, too. What do you think the biggest obstacle is? Kelvinverse? Paramount?
I'd say Picard season 3 really opened up a lot of doors here. Instead of going for a huge 100 million dollar budget tentpole, create a great Trek film on a reasonable budget like the older days. Bring on one more for this team!
Do you know something the rest of us don't?Kelvin Universe is coming out next year

Hah, was about to add that (IMO) SNW existing means as far as TPTB are concerned, the Kelvin films have run their course. If they can live with the idea that eventually it all has to lead into TMP, they could let SNW run its course, have Kirk take command at the very end of that series... then transition to the Big Screen with Kirk's Enterprise. To the general audience, it looks like a reboot, and it's with the characters they're most familiar with.
But they shot themselves in the foot with Paul Wesley. Unless he seriously hid some acting chops in his one SNW appearance so far, he doesn't seem like a Leading Actor to me. It looks to me like they deliberately cast someone who wouldn't overshadow Anson Mount.
