The Romulan didn't "spit acid" he dislodged and then bit down on the proverbial "cyanide tooth capsule" only instead of cyanide it was acid. The "tooth" itself made from a substance that doesn't react with the acid but the acid reacts with the biological flesh and whatever metal the gun is made of. And to think "acid reacts with everything" it doesn't, in real-life hydrofluoric acid reacts with metals but is perfectly fine stored in a certain kind of plastic containers and will severely damage your flesh on contact.

So that's what it was, a plastic tooth with hydrofluoric acid in it.

Really? Where was that stated? Because it sure looked like green Romulan blood to me.

New Romulam emblem?

Keeping up with this thread makes me feel like Picard on the stairs!

Disco Paris reminds me of the Klingon capital.

On the subject of the Romulans having been allies during the Dominion War...the Soviet Union was America's ally in World War II. How was our relationship with them 20 years later...?

Do we really think the rampaging synths mystery will be solved by "Picard" and if so will it be this season?

Yes, the Synth attack is tied with the Romulan plot, so that will be revealed by the season finale. I think someone made the Synths go rogue to stop the Federation from saving the Romulans.

It's entertaining to read the predominance of 4 and 5 star viewer reviews on rottentomatoes, and then run into the rare idiots who give it 1/2 a star and ramble on for seven paragraphs about Gene's Vision, the loss of an "intelligent, thoughtful franchise" and "politicizing Star Trek".

Satisfying.

He bites the capsule and the substance immediately reacts with his gums, lips and the inside of his mouth...
... Thus, Green Blood/Spittle.
(and he may have purposely built up a bunch of spit in his mouth just before crunching)
:techman:

Also, about Dahj surviving by immediate transporter, I don't think she did but ...,

There is the fact that the Romulan she threw off the top of the stairs, DID get Beamed Out almost immediately.

We should not miss the following comparison.
Damn, every time I see that 2372 pic of Paris, my snobbish European sensibilities get triggered, and I'm not even French

Just the whole thing with the President's office tower built right on top of the Notre Dame (the building in the foreground is the Hôtel-Dieu, the oldest hospital in the city), and of course the Eiffel Tower inserted into the background roughly where the Panthéon is supposed to be, just so that the viewers would recognize the shot as being in Paris... it annoys me to hell even though I know it shouldn't

I always liked that TNG/DS9 solution of Paris. It has some futuristic buildings but is not that kind of over the top jam packed city like the ones from JJTrek or even DISCOs take on Paris. :techman::vulcan:

Actually what interests me the most is just how much the Mods are chiming in on this particular thread compared to usual.

Its nice to see.
