Paris in Picard is a lot less built up than how it appeared in Discovery

Could just be from a different angle? Or it is more of an intergalactic port in 2399 than it was 2257.

It is a different angle yes, but you would be able to see some of the buildings that are in DSC that are missing in Picard.

It looks a lot better in Picard than in DSC. I don't like all of those additions they have in DSC.

Other way around, 2399 is less built up.

Starfleet command in Picard looks like DSC's, but with more build up, added buildings. So they are sharing scenery assets.

On my second watch and damn I loved everything about this. Seriously, how any of those youtube goons can hate this absolute work of art is beyond me.

Random side: I'm wondering with the Romulan assassins might have some genetic engineering going on. Especially the dude who spat at Dahj like she was Dennis Nedry.

The Romulan didn't "spit acid" he dislodged and then bit down on the proverbial "cyanide tooth capsule" only instead of cyanide it was acid. The "tooth" itself made from a substance that doesn't react with the acid but the acid reacts with the biological flesh and whatever metal the gun is made of. And to think "acid reacts with everything" it doesn't, in real-life hydrofluoric acid reacts with metals but is perfectly fine stored in a certain kind of plastic containers and will severely damage your flesh on contact.

So that's what it was, a plastic tooth with hydrofluoric acid in it.

BTW, I voted "Good".

It was probably said here already, but I hope that that these synths attacking UP/Mars weren´t controlled by Section 31 and the answer will be more interesting.

I think it's a slippery slope.

Poster A: "I like Picard better than Discovery!"
Poster B: "What's wrong with Discovery?!"
Poster A: "Blah, blah, blah, blah! It sucks!"
Poster B: "Yeah?! Well blah, blah, blah, blah! It rules!"
Poster A: "No! Blah, blah, blah, blah!!!! BLAH!!!!!!!"
Poster C: "I'm here to talk about Picard."

That's why I've been rolling with the punches. I don't want to get sucked into the tar pit. And everyone knows where I stand and I know where they stand. So there's no need.

Aside from that: I'm not going to get into this with two series I like. And I like both of them.

As a ds9 fan, strange that romulans being alliea during the dominion war as justification to save them wasn't brought up

I love DS9 to death, but I could give fuckall if they never mention the Dominion War. Don't care, and don't neeed it to appreciate this story.

My ultimate wish it that they tell a focused, coherent, relatively simple tale. No need for a reference a minute to make everyone squee, or to tie every event of the 24th century in to the plot.

There always people who thrive on taking those digs, though......

Side note: I can't remember the last time anything in Star Trek was so universally well-received by the fanbase as this single episode.

Then again, official record shows Romulans joined the effort becouse Dominion was planning to invade them and killed their senator. It looked like if it wasn´t for Shinzon´s coup they would just return to business as usual themselves.
