After the last time, I'm pretty sure that Data made sure that Lore would never be able to endanger anybody ever again.

If the whole Control/Section 31 incident was also deleted from Starfleet's records along with all records and history of Discovery and its crew, then I'm not surprised that by 130 years later no one inside Starfleet would have any recollection about Control and its activities.
And Section 31 clearly has all the incentives to keep them hidden so their past and current schemes would never get exposed by the higher ups within Starfleet HQ.
There's a ton of crap from history that no one's learned from IRL.

Yup, I proposed a while back that his appearance might be the big cliff hanger at the end of S1. If they adopt a more Westworld-style, multi-season story arc, then the synth plot could easily be continued into S2.
Interesting about de Lancie. It does kind of resemble him. I’m hoping it isn’t, though. Much as I’d like a Q story, I think that would be too many narratives boiled together and it might start feeling like empty fan service. But hey, Season 2?
Again, there is speculation that Q will appear in the final episode. Part of me hopes he doesn't though. The basic problem is you just know that if Q gets back in contact with PIcard he's not going to leave well enough alone - he's going to do something tell him that when he finally kicks the bucket he's going to come to the Q continuum or something. And it's going to take a lot of the tension out of the show as a result. Or even worse, just magic Data back into being.
I've watched some very touching scenes between Michael and Saru. There is also a very very different realationship dynamic between Saru and Michael vs. Jean Luc and Dajh. For much of the first season it was adversarial/sibling rivalry whereas the brief relationship between Jean-Luc and Dajh was of a granfather figure and a lost and vulnerable young woman. Its a relationship that is intended to be deeply sympathetic, where as Michael and Saru's for much of the first season, not so much.
I don't see that coming.
Lore was waaay to big a threat and Data knew after the last time that Lore should never be able to be reactivated in any way, shape or form.
Lore may be mentioned, but it would go against everything Data stood for to let anybody experiment with Lore's remains.
As much as I would love to see "Q" again...There was a scene in an earlier promo trailer of a conversation between Picard and an older bearded man who is lying on a bed, perhaps dying from an illness.
Could this man be Maddox? Orcould he be Q, because beneath his beard, the man looked like John de Lancie to me

I'm thinking that They are not going to use another actor to play "Q" when DeLancie is still very much around, no matter how badly They may want to fake out the viewers.
(especially since Stewart just went on National TV and invited Whoopie to come back for Season 2)
