Ditto. Just because Weller appeared in an Enterprise episode doesn't mean he's playing the same character or a descendent or whatever.

Remember, James Cromwell had guest-starred on at least two tv episodes before being cast as Zefram Cochrane in FIRST CONTACT. And Mark Lenard sure wasn't playing Sarek or the Romulan Commander in TMP . . . .

The vast majority of moviegoers never saw or don't remember that ENTERPRISE episode, so I doubt that the new movie--which is set in an entirely different timeline anyway--would bother to reference it.

Great! Now that you posted that in a public forum where Trek tie-in writers post, it'll never happen!

It was the same timeline until Nero arrived and started futzing history on Kirk's birthday and beyond. Star Trek: Enterprise is part of that same past in both timelines.

(unless you know something the rest of us don't:vulcan:)

I'd like to believe that too. However thinking about it...

Really the only fact we know for sure, from the mind of Bob Orci, is that the Admiral Archer referenced was the same person from Star Trek: Enterprise. Of course, it seems more likely that the Narada opened up a passageway to a different universe. Nero would have to be isolated from the Prime Universe first, for the changes not to affect anything. Meaning Archer's 22nd Century exploits may have been different over there, than those we saw. Possibly just the broadstrokes remaining the same... being the son of Henry Archer and founding the Federation, being his key contribution in each universe. I don't suppose we'll ever know for sure, even if Weller does play Paxton or a future relative. A portrait of the NX-01 hanging in the Briefing Room or on the Rec Deck would give an indication. I don't see them going to any trouble though.

I don't know, I mean, I'm basically a hornball, but Klingon sex looks too rough for me.

If facts "from the mind of Bob Orci" are so important, we have statements from the mind of Bob Orci that say otherwise. There is no basis to assert that a contradictory outcome is "more likely".

I don't even know what this means.

I think, if that were the case, it would have been said in the movie. There's nothing even remotely indicating that.

^ I don't know how they would be able to tell. From either perspective (Nero's or the Enterprise crew) there doesn't seem to be a way for them to know absolutely if Nero had originated in a different universe.

Spock Prime would have known. Yet, he spoke only of travelling back through time and not hopping universes.

^ Why would Spock Prime know? He could have emerged into an alternate universe and not realized it. I mean, he'd know he went back in time, of course, but not anything beyond that. You can't exactly scan for universes.
