So the BBC were forced to disclose the salaries paid to all of their Talent, including Peter Capaldi and while I'm not going to quote the figure here (it's easy to find if you must know) it's pretty astonishingly low. Basically he made less for one series of Doctor Who than he would for one episode headlining a show in the US. In fact doing a handful of Conventions a year would essentially pay him the same.
So while the idea behind this might have been to "shame" the BBC by exposing how much of taxpayers money they throw around, in this case it least, it seems he's been ridiculously underpaid.
Probably good for Jodie though, since there'll be no way they can get away with paying her less.
